Good news!! So, we got Gizmo's bloodwork back-for the second time- and everything was normal!!! The vet recommended that he needs to slowly transition to non-prescription dog food. He recommendation is that we use the w/d as well since wet food can have a tendency to be higher in fat, and SD Healthy Advantage. I'll probably get flack for keeping Gizmo on SD, but he seems to do really well on it, and I'm not going to change. With regards to his diagnosis, the vet doesn't even think he had pancreatitis, she thinks it was a GI upset. If it was pancreatitis, she believes it was a very mild case since the test came back negative, and his lipase levels were not off the charts. I'm so relieved. It's so, so nice to hear good news once in awhile! Thanks so much for everyone's prayers and advice! |
Doing the happy dance ! Thanks for the good update. :) |
Wonderful!!! Way to go Gizmo! Keeping that momma happy with good news!! :D No flack about SD here. It is the only thing that works for Rosie. And what ever works best for the pup is the best thing to keep them on. Sending hugs to Gizmo! |
Great news, I am very happy for you. |
That is really great to hear. There is nothing wrong with SD. I think you have made a good decision along with your vet. |
YAAAAAAAY!! That Is Great News!! :) |
Great news! |
Congratulations!!! |
Thanks ladies. So, my husband brought home the SD Healthy and the kibble was huge!! Like, bigger then Gizmo's poops. So, I think that's not going to work. But my vet also recommended Ideal Balance or Nature's Best SD. We went out, bought some Ideal Balance, because it's lower in fat, and mixed it with his W/D. He loved it!! Literally licked his bowl clean!! I couldn't believe the size of this kibble. I should take a picture of it. |
