Maci's Getting Spayed Tomorrow I have to drop little Miss Maci off tomorrow morning for her spay. I absolutely love my vet's office and I know they will take excellent care of her. She is such a tiny little baby though that it makes me so nervous to be putting her under! Last week when I took her in for the pre op blood work she only weighed in at 3lbs 4oz. I've already got my Kiss-E Collar, so I know we're prepared. I just worry so much when my babies go in for surgery! |
I hope the time goes quickly and maci does well with her surgery. |
I know how you feel. Cailee was spayed last Wednesday. I was a wreck all day. She came through it just fine. She was zonked out when I brought her home. We kept her in her crate (and put it with us while we watched TV). She perked up about 10 pm, guess the drugs were wearing off. The next day she was perky as if nothing happened. She has been a handful trying to keep her "more" calm than usual. Cailee is 4-1/2 months old and weighs 3 pounds. We have a "big" male Yorkie, Cody. He was so sweet when we brought Cailee home from surgery. He poked his nose in her crate to give her kisses and slept up against her crate most of the night. Good luck with your baby's surgery. |

Thank you so much for the well wishes! I love all the support on YT- it's such a comfort in times like these. Maci's nearly 7.5 months so I know it's time... I've just taken up all the food and various bully sticks, porky puffs, etc around the house... One thing I'm very happy about is that I am going to be home with her all week. I've switched jobs and have allowed a few weeks in between them, so thankfully she won't need to be left alone for one minute while she recovers. I'm hoping my biggest problem will be keeping her quiet. I just hate that my baby will be in pain. :( |

Just had mine done last Thursday and Friday, they were in a lot better shape than I expected when they came home. Good thoughts will be you. |
you and maci will be in my thoughts and prayers today. i am sure that all will go well and i am very happy you will be able to be home with her for a week during her recovery. they bounce back very fast after surgeries and show us that we were all worried for nothing!!! but i do understand completely. every year when it's time for dentals i get myself all nervous about it. my pixie is 17 months now and just hit 4 pounds so she's a tiny too and she did very well for her spay and dental. (poor little one has been under twice for surgery already in her short life!) try not to worry too much and remember you get a whole week to spoil her once it's all said and done! p.s. we're practically neighbors... we're not too far from you, in joliet! |
