Is she a water puppy? LOL Hey guys! Ok, newbie question. Did any of your babies have a thing about putting their paws in their water. As soon as we brought her home and I poured just a bit of that nursery water from the fridge, Katie Scarlett took a few sips and then put her front paws in it and then just happily trotted around her excercise pen. Since then, she has put those 2 front paws in the water bowl on numerous occasions. We try to clean up after her a bit so she doesn't make too big of a mess and we figured it's just a puppy thing. The hubby started calling her his 'water puppy.' LOL. Did any of your babies do this? She is 13 weeks. The water is cold so we didn't know if it just felt good on her paws or was she just playing. She doesn't lick the water off her paw after stepping in it. We were wondering if we should get one of those water bottles to attach to the x pen or just let her be. I talked to Kaos' mommy and she said Kaos did this too, so glad to know I wasn't alone in this. Tee hee! I was wondering if anyone else had experience? ;) |
How cute it does sound like she likes the water. Youll have to get her a little baby pool to wade in this summer |
Sounds like she loves playing in water! This will be great especially when it comes to bath time. Sounds like she's keeping both of you VERY busy today :D |
Great idea to consider a water bottle now! they can make a terrible mess of their expen if they get bored, and "back wash" water is gross! (ask Alana and Peppermint! -video) |
Mina LOVES the water. We will toss 3 or 4 icecubes in the water bowl and watch her go snorkeling. She really does stick her entire face in the bowl trying to get the ice. When she is done she wants to put her paws and nose next to my neck,so she can share. She also loves her baths, sticks her entire face under the running water. I had to get her a life jacket for the pool because she will swim until she is to tired. |
I use a water bottle, but my guys never played in the water bowl when I used one. Of course they were 2.5 and 10 months when we adopted them.:p I just like the water bottle because it keeps the facial hair drier. |
Tibbe used to stand with one foot in his water bowl when I first got him. I don't know if that was an earlier indicator, but he loves the water and loves his bath. |
You are so lucky if she is a water baby. My little one hates water, which means she won't go outside to potty in the rain or snow....henece the potty pads. Oh and forget about the beach, no water for her. She happily lay under the umbrella but will not go anywhere near the waterline. Bath time isn't too bad but she does the little dog shake while I'm giving her a bath and gives you the "WHY ARE YOU DOING this TO ME" look. |
We got our first bath last night since she had gotten sick in the car on the way home. She did very well in the bath, well in the sink. We did it there. She didn't care for the dryer as much, but after a few minutes I think she figured out it was helping her and she did really good after that. The grooming was a breeze after bathtime. I think I will get her a kitty pool next summer if she still seems to like it. Question....what water bottles do you guys use? Any recommendations? Thanks! :) |

Brandi doesn't mind the dryer as long as you don't blow it in her face. That's another thing she hates, wind in her face. Sometimes I blow in her face for giggles. Her reaction is so funny.....I know, I know. I'm a little stinker too.:p |
