Attention all Hammond, LA residents - FOUND DOG!! I live in Hammond, LA, and a friend of mine has found a little lost yorkie. We will be putting up signs in the neighborhood tomorrow, and I'm taking her to the vet in the morning to see if she is chipped. I'll also be taking her to the groomers in the area to see if she is recognized by anyone there, as well as checking with the local pound to see if anyone has contacted them with a claim. If you've lost a dog recently or know of anyone in town who has a yorkie that could possibly be missing, please PM me for further info on this baby. Note: Anyone trying to make a claim on the dog will be required to provide conclusive proof in some form. I just need to make sure that this sweet baby goes to her real home. I hope you guys understand. Thanks :) |

Oh my goodness, I hope you are able to find her family. I can imagine they are going out of their minds. Great idea on going to local groomers and vets. I am glad someone who cares about finding the family found this little one. Good Luck and keep us posted. |

Thank you, and I definitely will! |

I hope you guys can find her family! Good luck! |

I would take her to all of the vets in the area to see if anyone remembers who the owner is. I hope you find her home.:) |

Thank you SO MUCH for your effort in trying to reunite this little one with his/her family. Very few people put in the effort! Good luck in your search, I'm hoping for a happy ending! |

Thank you for looking for her owner! :) If you need any assistance, we have a member in Baton Rouge. Just drop us an email....or PM me. Actually, it might be a good idea to send her information to us in case someone contacts her looking for their pup. |

Thank you so much for all the work you are doing looking for this little one's owners. I am sure someone is frantically looking. Hope you will update us soon. |

We found them!!! Sorry I'm so late in updating, but it's been a pretty hectic day, and I'm just now getting to a computer. But it's a happy update, so it was worth waiting for! So, I went this morning and picked the little one up from my neighbor's house and went to have her scanned at my vet's office. She was such a little sweetheart, and cuddled in my lap the whole way. Unfortunately, she was not chipped, which was a little disheartening, nor did the vet recognize her. So she and I then made the rounds to the groomers (as she looked as though she had been recently groomed.) We went to the only two I know of in town but had no luck with either of them (one didn't recognize her, the other was closed.) Well, I was going to check with a couple more vets I know of, then check with the local pound, but I spoke with my neighbor (she'd kept her the night before after another neighbor of ours found her yesterday), and she said that she thought we'd better get started signing the area (she had printed out fliers while I was running the little princess around) because the vets weren't going anywhere, but the sooner we got the signs up, the better. So we met up at her house and started signing the neighborhood. Well, wouldn't you know, we had barely been out thirty minutes when my neighbor got a call from a lady who had seen our signs!!! She described the little girl (who we found out was named Bella) perfectly (little canine tooth sticking out and all), and said that she had been out looking for her all last night and early this morning, and was out knocking on doors in different sub-divisions when she saw the signs. It turns out she only lives two sub-divisions down from us! My neighbor said that both she and the lady cried when Bella was returned home (I didn't go to drop her off because I'd been signing in a different part of town, but I WISH I had) and that Bella was so ecstatic to see her mommy! My neighbor said her little nub was just a'waggin 90 mph, and that it was so obvious that the little girl was loved! I'm getting teary-eyed thinking about it. Anyway, I'm just so glad that we were able to find this little baby's home, and that tonight she is back where she belongs! I just love happy endings!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D |

I also want to thank everyone for the well wishes, tips, and offers of help. The people on this site are the best, and I honestly believe that thoughts and prayers really can influence an outcome. So thanks to everyone who wished this baby a safe return home! I'm sure she appreciates it more than we know! :D:D:D:D:D:D |

What a wonderful end to that story!:p |

I'm late to the thread but thank you for your efforts to find the baby's owner! Not everyone would be as caring and honest as you and your neighbors. Hopefully now you and Bella's owner will be great friends! :) |

What a great ending!! I'm so glad you were able to find her owners and that she came from a good home. Thank you for doing this! I hope if any of my pets were ever lost that someone like you would find them. |

I'm so happy to hear Bella found her way back home. Thank you for helping her find her home. |
