What do you use for your Cotton coats? Pita's coat get puffier by the day, I let her air dry last night and she looks like a ragamuffin homeless poodle :D. What are some good shampoo/conditioners to use for her type of coat. I have tried a bunch and not really happy with any of them, so any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks :) PS- I see so many pups without the top knot and their hair is never in their faces...how do you guys keep those pesky 'bangs' outta your babies eyes?? |
I share your pain. My Sophie has the dreaded cotteny coat!!:eek: I keep her pretty well shaved on her back and sides leaving a "skirt" and her legs. I have just ordered some new shampoo and will let you know how it works out. |
Zhoie is a cotton coated girlie butt too and believe me, I have tried the whole gamit of popular shampoos. I recently stopped into a pet spa and was turned onto Comfy Dog by happytails and I absolutely love the effect it has on her coat. Check out their website, I don't think you will be disappointed. Good Luck in your search:D |
which one do you use? |

I like minksheen shampoo and loreal vive conditioner. |

I also looked on their website and order a kit that had the oatmeal shampoo, spray and furbutter in it. Oh, with this shampoo, it's all natural and you don't need a conditioner. She's not had a tangle in her legs hairs yet, so keeping my fingers crossed. Here's the site I used: All Natural Dog Shampoo & Spa Products | Itchy Dry Dog Skin, Arthritis Remedies | Pet Odor Removal | Wholesale Dog Supplies |

The furbutter has shea in it. That sounds good. |

Is there any hope of growing out a cotton coat? I would love a little length on Pita but can't take torturing her with the brushing out of the mats...poor baby HATES it! |

I did a soak on her the bath prior to her last with the furbutter and it was wonderful. I'm not sure what is working for us, but keeping fingers crossed it does. Glad to hear shea is a good thing. |

I too keep my baby girl (cotton coat) shaved on her top, neck, butt, tail and sides. I keep it that way do to the texture and the havock that I had to go thru in order to keep her groomed. It was hard on both of us. And yes it is possible to grow out the sides. My Ruby;s sides are quit long. :aimeeyork |
