Thundershirt... Anyone used? Big seemed so awkward while wearing his. Our dog barks excessively especially when he sees someone or another dog outside our patio door. He will get so worked up, running back and forth from front door to patio door barking. It got so frequent and ... well, annoying, so we decided to try the thundershirt. I put it on him for the first time this evening and he transformed into a totally different dog. He didn't try to get the shirt off like he always does with normal dog clothes. But, he was so awkward. He was so calm, it was just weird. He wouldn't fetch, which is his favorite activity or kiss us like he usually does. He didn't go anything. He didn't seem to dislike the shirt, but he was so strange. I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Will he get more comfortable in the thundershirt or is this the behavior we should expect?? |

Maybe someone who has used it can give more advice but I think it is just mainly for a few hours to get through a storm or something. I thought I saw on here that people were amazed about how great it worked. I just wish it wasnt so darn expensive. |
I use it for Pixie who developed a sudden fear of thunderstorms. When she has it on she just lays on the bed very calmly. I only put it on when storms are predicted. |
I finally got Sassy a Thunder shirt on Sunday. I put it on her short periods of time on Monday. Monday night I put it on her at bedtime, she would not lay down in her bed and acted like she felt trapped and didn't want to move. I went to bed but stayed awake making sure she was ok. She slept good until 1:30 am then she woke up and started jumping at the gate, I waited an hour before I got up. She was fine when she saw me and I took the shirt off. Tonight I put the shirt on her and she trembled the whole time and acts like she can't breathe. It seems like she is afraid to move with it on. My husband took it off of her because she seemed scared. Is this normal behavior? I want to relax her but it makes her nervous even if I am with her. I am really hoping this will help her. Any suggestions would be appreciated. |
I got one for Jovi for car ride issues - she didn't seem to mind it but it also didn't seem to help with our issue - we will continue to try it a couple more times. |

I've never heard of a thunder shirt. I'll have to research on this. |
