newbie to yorkies :)do all yorkies stick there heads on floor and scatch like they are digging or is this unique to my dogs |
Mine does her digging in the bed. Her little behind is up in the air while she scratches frantically to make a "nest". She also likes to rub her face all over the bed. It's so cute to watch her. |
Mine does it all the time. On the carpet, on the couch, on my bed, on his bed, at the vets.... need I go on? I believe he is scent marking and labeling everything as his. :rolleyes: |
Mine do it all the time. My male peawee does it I think to wipe his face LOL & Lucy does it when she's nesting. |
Yea mine does it right after he has a bath... i used to think i had soap in his eyes so i would rinse and wipe them like crazy... but he does it anytime his face is wet. |

Lollie and Peppy both scratch and dig. Peppy just digs in his bed to make it just right. Lollie buries everything :rolleyes: her toys, her Churpi Chew as well as Tealie's and Peppy's, the food bowl, the water and I musn't forget she has to dig and dig to get the covers just right before taking a nap. |
yep, mine does it too. Its so funny, we have four dogs, only 1 yorkie, and he is the only one who does it. |
After Gizmo is done eating, or after a bath, he'll come into the living room, where we have an area rug-we have mostly hardwood floors- and proceed to wipe his face on, "Mommas freshly cleaned rug" or "Mommas new sofa". Little turd! :p |
Sometimes when Callie is trying to get comfy in a place to sleep she will "dig" at the couch or chair she is in. She also will rub her head on the floor after a bath or if I use a warm cloth to clean her up. My moms yorkie Sammy will rub his face on things he wants to smell like him. |
Annie does it every time before she goes to bed. It is like she is insistent on making it perfectly comfortable for her. So funny. |
Ahi is a digger...she just digs at everything! Couch, floor, blanket, plastic runner, carpet, my bed, her bed, your leg... LOL I think she does it for many reasons. When she smells something, nesting, trying to bury something, bored, needs to get out extra energy. :D |
Harry does it on my parent's cold tiled kitchen floor just before he wants to go to sleep - that's the only 'cold spot' in their house, and he chooses it! His nails on that floor really make your teeth go on edge!! :lightning Sally + Harry x |
