Doggy Armoire Well, starting work on the doggy armoire today. We have an old cabinet in our home that I am transforming for our Yorkie. My husband is puttying a few holes right now leftover from taking off a door. Then I shall start painting. I hope I can make this look good. LOL. I'll be sure to share pix when I finish. You don't want to see the before! The cabinet belonged to his grandmother and is like really retro, and not in a good way! LOL |
You should totally take a before and after pic. |
Cool! I can't wait to see pics... When do you get your baby? |
Cant wait to see it when your done |
Oh drats...I just love seeing how the makeover, totally takes a nigthmare and transforms it into a beautiful piece. Sure you won't reconsider sharing with us:rolleyes: Ok, ok...anyway, can't wait to see it when it done:thumbup: |
Just checking back to see how it turned out. For some reason I feel like its Christmas and can't wait to see it. I know it will be adorable. |

Please post pictures! I'm eyeing an old changing table for my little ones. |
Thanks guys! I'm sorry I didn't take a before pic, but if you can envision a tall, green cabinet with brown specks on it....Eeek! It looks like it came out of the 70's. I thought I had pix of it already from our first Christmas we shared together in our home as a married couple. I looked for an hour last night and couldn't find it. But I promise to share the updated look as soon as I'm done. It may be a few days. I thought just painting would do, but after 2 coats, I can still see the ugly paint finish underneath. So I am going to prime it today...maybe twice. I mean, this paint underneath is just so bold. It looks like the green they used to put on old appliances (refrigerators, washers, dryers, etc.) Y'all know that green? Man is it hard to cover! LOL 1Iesha....we are picking up Katie Scarlett this Friday!!! The 14th! So excited!!!! She'll be 12 weeks and 4 days old. I am already hoping the weekend was here! ;) |

If the old color is bleeding through, put a coat or two of Kilz on it. Its a great base coat, seals old wood and the new paint will stick to it better. Cannt wait to see the finished product. |
