Natural flea and tick control Does anyone know a natural flea and tick control. I used Advantix on my last yorkie and I swear it was the death of him. |
Sorry for your loss. What makes you think advantix killed him? |
This summer I used Vet's Best Flea + Tick Home Spray on the girls and their bedding, the carpet, sofa, etc. The Spray, Spray Shampoo, and Home Spray all have the same ingredients and concentrations of pepperment and clove (eugenol - what Billy the Exterminator uses around pets and kids ;) ) I may have overlooked something, but from what I've found, the natural products have to be repeated often bc they don't contain the oily synthetics chemicals. While in Louisiana this summer, I sprayed the girls several times a day w/ VB... it did stop the fleas on them in their tracks, but pne treatment didn't appear to last all day; but then again, it was SW LA! You can search this site for previous "Natural Flea Control" threads too. |

All-natural does not guarantee "harmless." Arsenic is all natural, but deadly. |
I never put pesticides on my dogs. and never will, so I understand your concern about it. Here are a few links for how to use essential oils for dogs as natural repellants. There are various methods people have used with much success. YMMV, but be sure to research how to use the oils properly. Do your own research...but this stuff is the bomb in my book! not only will it kill fleas and ticks, but it will kill inside parasites as well and is used on humans for many things as well....it's a great product, I use it at home and can't say enough! www.earthworkshealth.com |
