Biting ankles We need some advice. Our yorkie (Andrew) is nearly 10 weeks old, he has just started to bite at ankles as we walk. My partner is training him, since I'm disabled and have nurses taking care of me. Andrew also bites at the nurses ankles. Please help before this becomes a bigger problem for us. P.S. We use a crate |
I don't really have any advice, but would like to welcome you to YorkieTalk and hope you enjoy being here. |
When Callie was a puppy and bitting at feet we would say no and then squirt her with a water bottle. |
You might try distracting her with a more favored toy, replacing the bad habit with a game that's more socially acceptable. |
Good morning and welcome from the UK, too! :wavey: Why do they so like ankles?!!? We taught Harry to not do this by having his harness on and a leash attached. When we could tell he was about to 'go', we'd give a gentle tug on the leash to stop him in his tracks, accompanied by a sharp 'no'. It truly only took a day or 2 for him to learn. Good luck! :) Sally + Harry x |
ankle biter Fill a empty water bottle with some coins and shake. After a while all it takes is for you to reach for it. This was great advise I saw on this site. No more yelling! |
