Hello everyone,
I'm new here to YT. I've been on about a week or so and I'm trying to learn how everything works. I've made an album on my Userpage but I don't think everyone can see it. I have a 12 week old yorkie girl named Ladybug. I'm a first time yorkie mama and I've found so many helpful things about my baby girls on here! I've mentioned before that I have only seen one yorkie puppy in person and Ladybug doesn't look like the other pups I've seen in photos. They are always so fluffy and they are always black and tan. Ladybug is light tan but her black is already turning a silvery gray. Her legs seem really long. She looks like a yorkie but just not like all the ones I've seen photos of. Her mom is definitely purebred with papers, but I wonder about the dad. He looks like a yorkie but I'm no expert. I have photos of both parents so I would love if you would take a look and tell me what you think.

By the way, the thumbnail photo is of Ladybug's mommy. The photo of her dad was too large to attach but it is in my album. Please take a look and tell me what you think. I'm just a little paranoid that I didn't get a purebred pup although I lover her to pieces anyway!!!

Welcome to YT!! I am glad you introduced yourself and Ladybug. It looks like Ladybug's mom is 100% yorkie to me. She is a lighter color and I bet that Ladybug will be more blond as she matures. How old is she now? Also on your album, look to see if you have it set to public or private??? Not sure if that is even an option, but since we can't see it when we go to your profile that may be the problem:)

Welcome to YorkieTalk. :) You had me thinking for a second that the picture in your first post is your 12 week old puppy, and I thought that cutie looks a lot older than 12 weeks! LOL

Ladybug is adorable. My boys both have long legs. Some Yorkies are tall and some are short and cobby. We have a "Long Leg Supermodel Club" here on YT. :)

Colors vary and colors change as the pup matures. There is a standard set forth by the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America, but not all Yorkies meet the exact standard.

Good morning from the UK, too! :) As you look through all the gorgeous photos on here, you'll see that our babies come in all shapes and sizes - and colours! And they all seem to change as they grow (Harry, at 11 months, is going through his 'silver phase'!!). Your little Ladybug's mum looks very much like Harry's mum, whereas all the new little baby pups look very similar. Hope you're enjoying every moment with her :aimeeyork ! Sally + Harry x

Welcome to Yorklie Talk, Ladybug looks like a Yorkie to me. I have 4 Yorkies and they all look different. 3 of them have the same parents, different litters, and do not look alike and have totally different personalities. Since joining YT I have learned that there are so many different Yorkies.

Ladybug is a cute little pup- great name, too :) Her mom looks all yorkie and she does, too!

I had 2 yorkies when I was a kid - one was very light silver and blonde, the other was blue and tan. My little Belle is not quite 11 mos and still changing, so I'm not sure what she'll look like. Like the other posters have said they come in all different shades and they are ALL beautiful!

We have a new yorkie pup too! Abby Jane's birthday is July 18, her mom was very light silver- I wonder what color Abby will be too.

Ladybug is 12 weeks old today and her mom is 3 years old.

She is beautiful and love the name! Yorkies are a lot like people they can be a variety of colors and shapes but are all great underneath! I think she's a beautiful little dog, just like her mom! Welcome to YT :)

Your little girl looks like a Yorkie to me. Her ears are still down but they may still go up. There are things you can do to help them along if it is important to you. I think there is a thread from a few weeks ago that talks about this. Some Yorkies ears just don't go up but they are still Yorkies.
They are adorable either way. Best wishes with your new family member.
