Getting nervous Lily gets spade on wednsday and Riley is getting a dental. Both my babies will be put to sleep for the procedure. It makes me nervous to say the least. Wish us luck... I just want it to be all over. :( |
Sending my best. I hate those situations too, but they are resilient animals. They'll both be happier and healthier because of it. |
I know EXACTLY how you feel. I am having Riley neutered on the 13th and Abby spayed on the 14th. I am also a wreak. I know it is for the best but I don't want them hurting and I get scared about them getting put under. Good luck and let us know when they are recovering. |
Ohhh, bless your heart. I know how you feel. But, they will be fine. |
I feel your anxiety. Abby goes in to get spade and Max has to go in for dental procedure to get his canines removed on the 11th. Abby is a little small, so the vet recommended waiting until she was 7-7.5 months. She is going in at 7.25 (split the difference). Her canines are still growing in - but the baby teeth show no sign of loosening. When Max got neutered last month and he only had his baby canines. Two weeks later, poof, there they were and the baby teeth were not budging. Now they both have their baby and grown up canines. If they do not come out before the 11th, the vet will remove all of them. I hate for Max to have to go in again, but I know it is for the best. Hang in there and let us know how everything goes this week. |
I hope everything goes well I will keep you and them in my prayers and thoughts. |
I will keep them in my good thoughts its better to just get it all done and over with in one day like you are doing |
Sorry you are feeling so anxious. Although I cannot promise all will be okay I can totally empathize. I was terrified when Princess went under for her spay. I insisted they call me as soon as she hit the post op table & I waited the 2 hr monitor time & immediately picked her up and took my groggy girl home. She stayed in her box with her Kiss-E Cone one at all times. I was so afraid even after with her recovery, I medicated her, hand fed her, made sure she stayed hydrated & was super paranoid the boys left her alone with her potty trips...her first time out in the yard the next morning she went over & humped Elvis showing she was "weakened" but she was still top dog here! Do the pre-spay blood work & be prepared. Let us know how it goes, it's a routine procedure so feel confident. I see you are in Iowa, but it's still strange many vets in CA don't put them under for dentals. On YT I have learned that seems to only be a common practice here in CA. |
Sending hugs and prayers that all goes well and for a speedy recovery. It will be over before you know it. I can sympathize with you, it was so hard for me when Jada had her last dental and when Bogie was neutered. Jada was already spayed when we adopted her so I didn't have to go through that stress. I am sure everything will be fine. |
Prayers and Hugs for you and your babies. It is always hard to leave them , but I am sure they will be in good hands and they will soon be back home with mommy. |
My thoughts are with you hoping all goes well |
thanks everyone I drop them off tomorrow morning around eight. And then pick them up after three thirty. I work tomorrow so should help a little (not enough I am afraid) Yes the vets here put them to sleep for dentals. He needs one and just figured lets do it all at once. Lexi had a hard time with her spay just this spring and had to go back because of the pain she was having Turned out she had caught a virus of some sort and had to be on meds and have a shot. I am so nervous because I lost her in June. This heart can not take anymore sadness. I know I am doing the right thing but it is still very very hard to do. Thanks for all the nice thoughts. |
