Yorkie Question!!!! I was just wondering how much should a standard yorkie weigh at 4 months??? |
There is not an exact answer to your question because different Yorkie lines grow at different rates. A pup who is tiny at 4 months could end up over standard full grown. Whereas a pup who is a little larger at 4 months may not grow much more. The best way to guess your pup's adult size is to look at a few generations back in your pup's lines. You can also double the weight at 12 weeks and sometimes add a pound. An experienced eye can look at a pup's paw and joint and add that to the equation. Max was 3 pounds and a few ounces at 16 weeks and he is now 8 pounds, 13 ounces. Over standard. Teddy was smaller, but has filled out to 8 pounds. :) |

I've read information which says that Yorkies can achieve an Adult weight between under 3 pounds, to over 20. The Sire and Dame for both mine, always throw large puppies. I didn't write this down, but, if I remember correctly, both of mine were right at 3 pounds, when they were four months old. As of this post, My Male Sneakers (@ 3 yo) is at 12.5 lbs, and My Female Becca (@ 1 yo) is exactly 7.0 lbs. |
Belle was 3lbs 8oz at 16 weeks and 4lbs at 20 weeks. She will be 11 mos in a few days and is about 5lbs......... So, there really is no set answer. I actually thought that she would get bigger than she has! |

11 pounds and only 4 months??? i think that is just great!!! i love how this one breed is just so diverse.. My little Maxy weighs 6 pounds (he's 4 months) and i thought i was feeding him too much... Thanks for the reply. |
Yep, you read it right!! :D But that was our choice - with us 2, we could never have had a teensy one, we knew what we were getting!! ;) It's funny you know, because Harry's in no way a piggie. He eats his 2 meals a day, occasionally grazes on his kibble too, and that's it. He's not the Hoover that our other dogs have been!! :animal36 Sally + Harry x |
