Can I flea bomb my apt? And what do you use for prevention. Obviously Frontline Plus is not working so I need another solution stat as my baby is MISERABLE! She was licking herself some yest. well today when I came home from work she was really acting crazy trying to itch herself. Sure enough I flipped her over & her belly is covered in bites-hers or its, then I saw a flea. She's sleeping now that the little ____ is dead. I think she would've been fine but we went to someone's house yesterday that I now think had fleas over there. I'm so freaking mad! So I guess she's homebound again. If I use the flea bombs I've been reading about will it make my apt. toxic to her? The vet is still recommending Frontline Plus w/Capstar if I desire. Since Frontline didn't work could I just give her a flea bath or something? |
I'm not sure that I like Frontline either, though it does seem to work for Rizzo. For the apt. bombing I would check with your leasing office to make sure you are allowed to do so, and then just follow the directions on the package to ensure you don't bring home your pup too soon. I think it's something like 4-6 hours the house has to be empty of all life forms, and you would need to clean everything and vacuum really really well after. I've never personally done a bombing, but there are a lot of precautions you need to take to make sure that the agent doesnt get on anything your pup eats/drinks/chews/etc. Good luck, fleas suck! |
Frontline is losing effectiveness in some areas. You could go with Advantage and Program or Advantage II. I'd be using Program (or Sentinel) monthly and Capstar at least weekly for awhile. I would not use flea bombs around dogs or kids. |
I'm going to get her meds hopefully tomorrow. A crazy day didn't allow me to go today. I just buzzed her hair pretty short so it's easier to flea comb (& they were running up the clippers!!!:mad::(), gave her a dawn bath then followed with the Bio-groom anti-itch shampoo. Rinsed her tons & now she has super angry zoomies!;):p Quick question, just looking for some verification if I can get it here, it seems ok from where I've read elsewhere: would bag balm be safe to put on her belly & lady bits? It looks horrible & it must hurt like crazy. I'm afraid she'll still scratch the bites so wondered if it'd be ok if she got some in her mouth. I know I've used it as chapstick before:o & I was fine, lol. |
