SO submissive. When I was researching for a dog and I fell in love with the yorkie... they said that they were always acting like the big dog around HUGE dogs. This was such a turndown for me(even though i couldnt imagine another baby for me). But, Bailey is the exact opposite. When ever she sees a dog on a walk when she goes to say hello, she rolls over on her back so the dogs can smell her! I think this is so funny, and everybody starts to laugh when she does this. Haha! Is your yorkie submissive or not? |
awww how CUTE ! I would say my puppy is pretty submissive too. Only she doesn't roll over on her back. |
hhaha. yeah Baileys her own litter person:) i dont know what with her. i would love to hear what she is thinking! |
Riley does the Same thing.... has since day one and he is 16 months old now. It can be embarrassing, at times. |
same with Bailey. I don't know why she does it. Dont feel embarrassed!:). I think it is so cute! When ever they see her they are like go ahead and flip! and there she goes... she flips! |
hahaha me too ! they may not be like most yorkies, but my Cupcake is so sweet , I wouldn't have her any other way ;) |
exaclty same with Bailey. She has become my kid and I wouldnt trade her for the world!Once there in your life... there not going anywhere! |
Same with Riley!! He is such a sweetheart. He does it with dogs and even with random people who want to come up and pet him. We live in the city and we try and get out as much as possible. He comes just about everywhere with me. :) |
Callie does that. When she was a puppy she would pee when she got excited and then end up rolling over in it, I am so glad she grew out of the peeing when excited thing. If she is chewing on a bone and Sammy comes over to her she will drop the bone and roll over and he grabs the bone and takes of. |
Your yorkie sounds adorable. Each pet is different. How old is she? |
Don't be embarassed. It's ok. If you have human children. Just recall how sometimes they can say or do things that make us a little embarassed. What can you do but just love them! Children and dogs make life interesting. |
My Izzy is the submissive one, and Luna is the holy terror that thinks she's huge:laugh: So I have one of each;) |
Levi thinks he is HUGE. He's not submissive at all. He's friendly and playful, but he totally thinks he is much bigger than he actually is. |
Wow! They are all so different. Bailey is like 1 year and a half. She will be two in march! My baby is growing up to fast. Time flys when u have a yorkie:) |
Roxy has always done this, especially around other dogs. I always figured it was her way of telling them she is no threat. They get the message just fine. Big dogs don't intimidate her in the least, as she appears to think she is the same size. She wants to be every dogs friend & every person's friend. Gotta luv it! |
Ozzy is the BIG dog with dogs his size or similar, but he's completely submissive with large dogs. What is really odd to me is that the only dogs he's tried to mount are female yorkies... though those days are likely over now since he was nuetered on Friday :aimeeyork:( |
Elvis rolls over for everyone just like yours, with three exceptions. 1. The neighbors giant poodles ironically apparently the neighbor is a dog trainer...well Elvis goes psycho whenever she takes her giant poodle on their walk and get the mail-the mail box next to our front yard. Elvis jus freaks out barking and growling and going from door to window whining to get the poodle whom he has never actually met. 2. Elvis also erratically decides he has taken enough from the other dogs and looses it he snaps, growl and freaks (no real biting) the other dogs are so taken back they just get away and leave him alone. The first time this happened he submitted to my friend's Amer. Staff (100+lbs) well she proceeded to roll him with her nose to try to get him to play and Elvis took it as aggression he flipped over and scared her so much she ran and hid behind my friend! It was hilarious 9# Yorkie makes "big bad pit" run and hide. 3. There is a female in heat around. |
Harry doesn't do it with other dogs (large or small) but he does occasionally do it with my husband! :) When Andy first comes home from work, Harry'll go up to our bed, flip onto his back, and cover his eyes with his paws as though he can't bear the joy of seeing him - it's so sweet and funny and lovely! :D Sally + Harry x |
Bubba is submissive. Sissy thinks she's a pit bull no matter how large the dog but only puts up that front for a few seconds (just till they know that she's the boss) |
aww cute.. ziggy is still abit weary of other puppies. it usually depends on the other dog's approach |
Lily does this all the time. She will be two in march. Now Riley is 6.5 of raging dog. He acts very tough at times. This is Lily's dad. Her mom was that way also would take on anything as long as I was close.. They are all so different but all so very lovable.. |
Choppa does this. With people too. It's like he's saying here's my belly get to rubbing. |
Max and Teddy think they are the biggest dogs in the world :D, however, they can be intimidated. If Max submits, he puts his ears back (not down). Teddy stands behind my legs. If a big dog acts aggressive toward them, they will both stand closer to me. |
