Abby doesn't have to stay overnight I finally got Abby to the vet for her spay consultation. She is going to get spayed on Oct 14th. I was concerned about having her done because they keep them overnight and there is no one there. So I explained that I wasn't comfortable with Abby being left unattended and they said I could sign a waiver and she can come home that night as long as I could keep her from getting too wild. I am going to try to get Riley done that week as well this way neither of them will feel 100%. Then they will both be done and I won't have to worry about heats or puppies. How long will they have to stay confined? A few days or a few weeks? Neither of them have ever been crate puppies. Can they still sleep with me? |
Mine have never stayed overnight after being neutered/ spayed. They came home within a few hrs. Of surgery and I never signed waiver. I used a baby play pen for at least 1 week to keep my babies quiet however my 3 pound wonder elected not to stay postop day 2 and jumped out. The playpen was right next/ touching to my bed. She was 100% fine- she is solid muscle. Your baby will let you know. My vet recommends limited activity for 2 weeks after- No running or jumping. Outside on leash only for potty and than back to quiet time. Zoey milked it for all it was worth though. I could not keep Roxy still though she has ADHD. Cozy was fine in a week but still tried to limit activity. |
Yeah, Jackson came home with me a few hours after his operation. He had it done around 8:30AM and was home by 4PM. He still slept with me that night in my bed... I just kept an eye on him but he didn't mess with his stitches much. Good luck!!! |
good luck with your babies' surgeries |
