Well,it's official... I pick up Cricket tomorrow around 4-4:30ish! She had a vet appointment yesterday. She weighs .6 pounds. The vet expects her to be around 2 full grown. That's less than half of my moms Chihuahua. She has an absolute clean bill of health; no heart murmors. My icon is a recent picture of her, and the pop can is closer to the camera than she is. I have a question though. We're members with Planned Pethood, and signed up about 2 weeks ago in hopes that we would have our membership card by now. Well, we still don't have the card, and have been informed that it may take another week. Anyways, should I be worried that Cricket could become pregnant? I don't plan on ever really having the two together, and taking one out after the other if it's a big possibility. |
Congratulations! I could be wrong but i dont think they can get pregnant this young! But I dont know. Just my guess... Cricket is so pretty and I hope you have fun with her |

Congratulations! |
She is absolutely adorable!!!! Im doubting she is really ".6" pounds though and if she is....way too small to bring home!! We have a itty bitty one who is 13 weeks right now....we have had her 3 weeks (which was too soon)...She weighs about 1.6, and is TINY!!! Be sooooo very careful if she really is that small. Read my threads.....the reason for the new one is because my 14 year old son accidently stepped on our precious little Jordan. Keep her safe...do the "shuffle"....... |

I remember reading your post. She's going to be crate trained, so the only running around she'll really be doing is when she's outside to potty, or I'm playing with her. This was very successful in training Whiskey, so I plan on doing it again. |

Whiskey was about her size when we got him, and we didn't have any accidents. He couldn't wear a collar for a while because the xs wasn't small enough. Whiskey is pushing 6 pounds, and I hate carrying him around because my arm ends up feeling like I was carrying a 200 pound baby. There'd be no way I'd carry almost 10 pounds around!!! |

Is your mom's dog neutered? |
Yea!! Congrats! My little Abby was around 2 pounds when I picked her up at 12 weeks. Now at 6 months she is about 3.2 pounds and full of personality! Your little one has a lot of mischief in her little eyes. She is going to be such a character. Can't wait to see more photos. |

That's the best way I can explain it. |
3 Attachment(s) I was right. She did weigh .6lbs. She now weighs .8lbs which is 12.8 ounces. She eats a ton, so I expect her to gain fast. She doesn't cry at night, which I find beyond amazing. She's got a potty pad in her kennel, and only goes potty on that. We got our Planned Pethood card in the mail today, and Whiskey now has an appointment to be neutered. Cricket tries to play with Whiskey, and he just stands there like as if to say what am I supposed to do with this? Here's some pictures, If they don't show up here they're in my album. There's more but they're too big. |
OMG she is sooooo adorable wow too sweet lol :) |

Whiskey "protects" her from the cats, so they're never really near her. Oh, and an update: Consistancy DOES pay off!!! For me that means wake up in the morning, let her out, eat, let her out, nap for 2 hours, let out, play, let out, nap, let out, food, let out...... She's not using the bathroom all over her potty pad anymore. It's only in one spot. And if when I take her outside I say "Go potty!" She starts wandering around, then goes potty. |
Oh my gosh!!! She is so adorable! Watch up - those eyes look like they are full of mischief! She is going to be such a great family member. |
So adorable! I just got a new baby girl as well, her name is Lola and she is 1.4 lbs. We have a 1yr old named Kiwi and at first he didn't know what to do with her either! We have had her for a little over a week and now they play all the time! And will even nap together, it's so cute! It's amazing how small they are! Kiwi was the same weight when we got him, but its amazing how fast you forget! Good luck with your little one! |
