I groom Mojo myself! Everytime i took him to be professionaly groomed i got dissapointed cuz i paid a lot for something i do better. I donnou if i pay more attention to little details, but his coat also looks so much better after i give him a bath, donnou if it is the products or what it is...also i hate to have to wait for hours and to see my lil boy in the cage:( |
I need to give Milo a bath every week. Could you imagine the grooming bills%$$$$. I wish I could could get my hair done that often but there are some things you sacrifice when you stay at home. |

You can buy clippers, there is also videos that teach you how to groom...if you want to grow a full coat, i think it is even easier:) |
Prices for grooming vary from city to city. Here, I charge $27 for a full grooming. So technically, I groom my yorkie myself but I AM a groomer. lol So I can't really give you an answer there. It's not that hard to groom a Yorkie though. There are lots of books and videos and people here that can give you excellent advice and tips on how to groom your yorkie. You can purchase top grooming quality shears and clippers on PetEdge.com for a great prices. If you do want to take your yorkie somewhere, they really only need to be GROOMED (such as actually trimmed) every 4-6 weeks depending on your furbaby's coat. You can bathe your dog more often than that, but no sense in taking your yorkie to a groomer just to be bathed when you can save time and money by doing that at home. Hope that helps you! :) |
If I may interject my 2 cents worth here, I bath my dogs, clip toe nails, cut the hair on the bottom of the feet, cut the hair out of their eyes, shave the booty & shave the tips of the ears. There are things I can't do that the groomer does is anal gland cleaning, and pulling hair out of the ears and I am sure groomers do many more things I don't. So IMHO, I can't replace a good groomer. I just can't find the right one here in West Tennessee. Yorkease |
