Hurricane Irene For all of you in the path of that horrible Irene, I send my prayers. Please stay safe. |
I agree. Been thinking about my NC friends especially this morning. |
Prayers from Missouri, too. I hope everyone and their critters stay safe. |
Thanks for the good thoughts. So far where I am in MD, the weather is good. They are calling for rains this afternoon, evening. The track of the storm is supposedly to hit about an hour and 1/2 away from where I live. It's kinda surreal to be waiting. It was really cool and breezy last night. A little bit balmy but very pleasant. Between earthquakes and hurricanes, I'm ready for a nice quiet trip out west to Las Vegas. lol We'll try and update as the time goes by. |
Great thread! Sending prayers and well wishes to you all. Hang in there and it will be over soon. |

We still have some gusts and rain, my "hurricane headache" hasn't lifted yet (from the atmospheric pressure). We make sure our cars have gas, we have lots of small cash, and I pack a bag of clothes, medicines, important papers and treasures- even if we get wiped out it's all in one place. My sister is on the Outer Banks so we are praying for her. |

More Gasoline. When Ike hit here we were out of power for four weeks. The bill for gas that month was horrible..lol. Best wishes to you all in the path. Used to live in Greenville and was hit there several times as well. Stay safe and don't be afraid to evacuate if needed. |

I also send my prayers. I am from the Cayman Islands so I am well acquainted with major hurricanes (scary stuff). May God bless and protect everyone that is or will be affected. |

My daughter and her family are in NY and they just left me in Orlando after being here for a month. She was so worry about us and look , you just never know. Well I love your list , you might want to add candle and if you can get a black Tv/radio with batteries, I got one at walgreen for 19.99, I'm sure CVS might have them too. You might want a hand can opener. and some can food. I put my water in the freeze and I use it as needed in case the elect is off for a day or two. I also fill up all my bath tubs and also put water in some of my pots. Maybe you can sleep thru this hurricane with the wine and good food Lol !!! Be safe! I will have all of you at YT and the states in my prayers, God Bless !!! bark@ulater!!! manina, mileyandmax:aimeeyork:aimeeyork |

Right on the coast...the little arm that's sticks out into the ocean all by itself. We are in good shape...going out to help pull some friends boats out of the water just in case....But I am ready. |
Escape from New Yorkie The Yorkies of New Yorkie would make easy work of the flooded out rats (if their humans were not under evactuation oders). Hurricane Irene Makes Landfall - Slide Show - NYTimes.com :rain::rain::rain: |
Ready....But not really concerned. I'm a "see it to believe it" kinda girl I guess. The only thing that is missing from my survival kit is a nice steaming plate of chinese food! But my BF forbids me from going outside. :( He's afraid I might just blow away like a ribbon in the wind. Things are pretty calm outside as of right now. But we'll see what tricks Irene has up her sleeves. |
