Dog having seizures
 
my kids little Pomeranian is having seizures, jumps like she is biting at flies.
they put flea and tick med on her, then put some more on her when they got home. Does anyone know why a dog has seizures, what you can do for them:D

What?! This post is confusing....is this serious??...I would hope if your dog, or kid's dog is really having seizures you would take it to an emergency vet ASAP!!

You go to the ER.
If it has just started, you can wash the area with cool water and a soap like Dawn, then keep the area cool until reaching the vet (to help prevent absorption). It's a medical emergency.

I say get this baby to the Vet fast.

Why on earth if they had already applied Flea/Tick med's would they put more on the dog?? This could cause seizures.

I don't understand why they put more on her when they got home, they could have overdosed her. I know you have other dogs, and they probably will all get fleas. Your house will have to be cleaned and all bedding throughly washed. Here's some more information on cleaning the house. Fleas in the House - Getting Rid of Fleas in the House

You can bathe her really good to remove most of the flea meds. Seziures can be cause from a number of things..I am sure your vet can find out the cause. Some seziures can be controled. And if not controled they can help releive the pain if need be. Pleae get her to the vet. I lost 2 old poms last year because of hedrity seziures. I use to raise them years ago & these were 2 of my old breeders I wouldn't rehome. They stopped having pups at 6 yrs old they were 16 & 15 years old. Thought they deserved to stay here since they had been here all their lives. Sure do misss them. Sending prayers for the pommie...

I wonder if she's possibly saying the pup is freaking out so bad from the fleas it looks like she's having a seizure & that's some how funny?:confused:

Whatever the ailment I hope the pup is better soon.:(

this is not my dog, It is way down in southern kansas. this woman is handicapp, and her kids think the dog is mental. and want to have it put down, while up here they put the tick,flea med on her, then took her back home, and the lady it belongs to, put flea and tick med on her. They want to have the dog put to sleep. My kids can't really afford vet fees, and are trying to help her

i'm super confused. is the dog literally having seizures or not? and if the dog needs euthanized please be humane and euthanize. don't cause it more harm. this sounds to me like your kids are abusing an animal but overdosing it on flea meds to kill it. HORRIBLE if that's the case. I would defin seek an ER vet ASAP and get this dog humane care. If they don't want it then give it to someone that does my goodness!! This thread is making me sick. i hope i'm wrong and it's all just a misunderstanding.
