Scared of groomers My baby really needs a hair cut badly, but her hair is so long that Im afraid some would ruin it. I just want her to have a trim. Does anyone know of any great groomers in brooklyn or manhattan. Im talking about a groomer that specializes in yorkies |
If she only needs a trim, can you do it? I have clipped my own yorkies for years, and though they don't always come out picture-perfect, at least it's a lot less expensive, lol. Here's a good link I found about grooming and trimming. I thought the best part was "How to get your puppy ready for the groomer" involving training your yorkie to be able to stand and be patient with being man-(or woman) handled by a stranger. For some reason, it won't post as a hyper-link, so if you want to see it, you will have to copy and paste to your browser, sorry! http://media.wiley.com/product_data/excerpt/09/07645688/0764568809.pdf#search='yorkie%20hair%20cut%20tips' Good luck! |
I finally took Cali for her first grooming and I was very specific with what I wanted cut and what I didn't, I told her I wanted her in full coat so to only trim feet, but and ear tips. She did a great job but make sure you tell her what you want. I would be careful saying you want a trim if you don't want length taken off. |
It is a great idea to find a groomer that specializes in yorkies, or at least is familiar with how they should look. Good luck! I have never had luck with a groomer yet. |
I called a couple and the one I chose has been grooming for 25 years and use to own and show Yorkies. |
I go to a great groomer in Middle Village, Queens .. They cut off exactly how much i asked them to0... and for the first hair cut they didnt cut off a lot because they wanted pixie to get used to the sound of the buzzer.. If you want more info just post a message |
