Fire Ants My poor baby Lilly got into a fire ants nest last night. Thankfully no allergic reaction but she does have some blisters. Vet says she should be okay! |
Poor little thing! Did your baby get something for the pain I hope. Sure hope everything going to stay ok. Hugs! |
Awwww i'm so sorry. I know nothing about fire ants but it sounds like it would hurt. I hope the blisters go away fast and shes feeling better soon. |
Oh no, poor Lilly. Hope she's ok. I had fire ants in my yard a few weeks ago, and did some research on how to get rid of them without poison. One non toxic solution is to pour boiling water in their nest/hill. |
Your pup is 10 weeks old right? Don't take her outside yet! Wait until a few weeks after she's finished all her puppy shots. I hope she isn't too bothered by blisters and I hope she's all better soon. Be careful with her, she's still an infant. |
Oh that poor baby! I know how bad those things hurt! I put my hand on one of them one time and it was terrible. Hope she gets to feeling better soon!! |

I have found the best thing to get rid of the fire ants. Get some amdro from home depot or lowes Or some place like that. I put it around the hill not into there hole where they they go in and out. The I opened the windows and put it ion the window sills out side. With in minutes they were gone and have not returned. I talked to a bug man to find out how to kill them he recommended amdro. It is little granulaes. I tried the boiling water down the hole but it did not work this stuff work the best. Good luck. Linda, Sassy and Patti |

Baby powder on the window sills and thresholds will keep them from crossing, but won't kill them. Citrus oils (bought or homemade) and diatomaceous earth are two natural and non toxic ways to rid your yard. |
Hope your little one feels better soon. We do not have fire ants in Kentucky, but have certainly stepped on a sandpile/nest in South Carolina. Oh my goodness about the pain. |
