I have two that are very quiet Rubin and Abba. Ginny Joy only barks at real things like the trash truck, someone at the door, or when someone tries to take her toy or treat. But Gracie, BARKS and BARKS ... a lot. She cries waa waa, whines, complains, growls, snorts, yips, and howls, mostly just to hear herself make noise. We are always saying Quiet Gracie, Enough ! She stops for a little bit then forgets and barks some more. She was a rescue and I am convinced teaching them to be quiet has to be done when they are young. I think quiet is good. :) I love my little Gracie, I wish she could just relax and enjoy the love and security.

My Daisy never barked until she was 2.5 years old. I guess she never felt a reason to. Then some little boy was chasing her at the dog park and she stopped, fluffed her hair, and let out the cutest little bark.

I wasn't sure Gracie (4+ months old) had a voice either until the first time I prepared her to be alone. We've only had her days. She sleeps in her crate perfectly at night (still on a chair by my bed) but until Saturday I hadn't crated her to be left alone. Oh yeah, she can bark!! I went out of her sight and she didn't bark for very long - I think she just settled down to sleep, but if I want her to bark I know what to do :-)

Well my Tibbs did not start to bark until recently. He always did this wine that my HD says sounds like a squawk box.... But his bark is loud and very deep now...He is 17 weeks old and 6 lbs. Bella on the other hand is 9 weeks old and barks and cry's and drives me nuts....She never shuts up we have had to sleep with ear plugs... Does he make any other noises??

He very rarely growls or so his way of growling. Its the cutest thing and sounds far from an average dog's growl and thats only when he's fighting w/ Porscha. I've heard him cry a few times when Porscha bites him too hard. He's 10 months and I really would love to hear him bark. My Porscha (also 10 months) has been a loud mouth since she was 8wks and it's music to my ears every time!
