Kwigly-Bo Alex Luxe Size Question Hello I wanted to get my baby Coco a carrier bag and was thinking about the Kwigly-Bo Alex Luxe. I have read on these forums that this brand of bag is popular with the members. I am confused as to what size to get Coco. I want her to be comfortable and be able to have room to breathe but I also don't want it so big that she is sliding around in it. Here is some info about Coco. 8 months very close to 4 pounds nose to tail - 17 inches back to tail - 12 inches girth - 10 inches Thank you, any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated. |
Here's the size for the Luxe: Small: 15"x5"x8" Holds up to 10# Large: 17"x8"x11" Holds up to 15# |
I saw the measurements online but my main concern is that in my mind the 5 inch width for the small seems very thin and maybe suffocating. but I don't know, I was just looking at 5 inches on the measuring tape and it was difficult to think fitting Coco in that thin space. |
it may seem thin but there's actually a good amount of space inside for a 4# dog. The large may be too big but you could always add a blanket to fill the void. |
The large is really quite big. I loved it for 2 babies...they were 3 1/2 - 4 pounds each...But for one...it's pretty big. Most people with that size baby with the small seem really happy with it :) |

He kept growing, so I upgraded to a Large.... and Love it!! He is 14-months old and is 12 inches back to tail; with about a 14 - 15 inch girth. |
Rosie is 5 1/2 lb and I have the small. She does just fine in her KB bag. :) |
I think the small would be fine for you. I have the large and both my 7lber and 5 lber fit in there snugly... I think the large would be too large for a 4lber. You could always upgrade if your pup gets too large for the small? |
I got the large for Jazi. She's 7 months old (4 1/2 lbs) and I hate that it's sooo big. I feel like I'm going on a trip. I'm going to sell it if she doesn't grow into it by December (when she'll be 1 year) and get a small one. |

We have the Alex bag the large one, and Sprocket is larger than your Coco, Sprocket is 10-12lbs, remember you also tend to take a blanket and or a toy. No matter how much room Sprocket has large or small somehow he expands or curls up to fit. Laws of nature kind of thing. Maybe Coco is better than Sprocket in the manner. Also remember your baby will grow some more, Sprocket grew 2lbs and atleast another 1/2" or so legs and 1" body after we got him and he was 2 yrs old when we got him! Like a teenager grows into a man kinda thing, these bags, tho they are expensive are really nice. We just used ours for in flight travel as well as our every day type bag, we've had it 2 yrs and no signs of wear. I like it cause it doesn't look like a "dog" bag, and everybody has a giant purse so no one notices. :D . Hope this helps. |
You won't go wrong with the small. The large is REALLY big. It fits my two that are 3.5 lbs and 6 lbs. Even that, there's extra room. I will take up Ryan's suggestion and put a blankie in there. Unless you plan on getting another puppy, small will be ideal for you and Coco. :) |
If you have a small Kwigy Bo bag, how big is you furkid that fits (in the small bag). Trying to gauge if the small will be too small. (my large is HUGE). Thanks for any info, Angel |
I actually bought the small and had to return it. Thor is 5.25 pounds but he would not lay in the small for one minute. I got the lg and he jumps in by himself and sleeps in it. I travel every week and he goes with me so we always have a thin little blanket and his favorite toy. I like it because he can move around and streach out like he likes to do. Good luck I agonized over the size also but the bag itself is great. :aimeeyork |
3 Attachment(s) Here's a picture of Emma (3.4 lbs) in our black KB Alex by herself. It is quite big for her alone. The last picture of both her and Carmel (6 lbs) in the KB. I also have a gold Luxe large and it's the same size as Alex large. Hope this helps. |
