Irresponsible Pet Owners!
 

I went out to eat yesterday and right before I was getting up to leave about 6 people came in waiting for a table. I waited for them to get seated before I got up to leave b/c the door was kind of blocked. Anyway after they had cleared out and I was heading for the door I noticed they had tied their 5-8lb Yorkie up to a bench outside on the sidewalk! I was furious, not only could this baby have been stolen, but it was well above 80 degrees outside even after 7p.m. I stood around the door for a few minutes debating on whether or not it was my place to say something to these people or not, but thankfully a resturant employee seemed just as upset of the situation they had put this dog in & told them they could not tie their dog up there! I watched from the parking lot as a man put the dog into their jeep (top off/windows open) and hooked it into it's car seat, still in the heat, still in danger of being dognapped! My boyfriend convinced me there really wasn't much I could do without causing a scene so I just said a little prayer and walked away. I hope this baby was ok and that these people will eventually learn to leave their dog at home where it is safe when going out to eat!

Some people are idiots. They don't care about their dogs. Me on the other hand, if they can't go they stay home with the ac on and having a blast with treats and water at all time. If they do go, they stay with me. My mom thinks I'm a nut for treating my pups like royalty..LOL

That poor baby. I really wish you'd called the authorities and reported them, so the pup would've at least been checked on. Hopefully he was alright in all the heat while they enjoyed their meal. :mad:

I'm the same way, if I am going somewhere & am not 100% sure my dog is welcome to go inside, she just doesn't go. I'd much rather leave her at home where she's comfortable than tie her up outside or leave her in the car in the heat!

I live in a verryy small KY town. Just last week our dog warden was fired for shooting a pit bull that was trying to attack him. I had no one that I knew of to call =/

I was walking down 17th Street, here in DC, and a Yorkie was sitting in the sun, panting, tied to a metal newspaper dispenser......:eek: while its owner went into a corner CVS!! I was just about to go over to hang out with it but another lady got to it, before I did....

I wish someone would tie them out in the heat or leave them in a car in the heat. I leave my air conditioner on in my house for my dogs when I have to leave them

I feel like if someone is going to be that careless the very LEAST they could do is leave some water with the dog, esp in that kind of heat! Gabby goes outside to play for a few mins at a time and always has a bowl of filtered, refrigerated water inside & out!

But again, I think it's best to just leave the dog at home! We want them to be with us, more often than not, they'd rather be at home! They don't need to go & be put in danger!

WOW, are you serious?!? I would steal them! jk :p When I went to FedEx, the lady said I could tie Carmel outside to a mail dispenser. :eek: I was like "I WILL NOT tie my dog outside!" I mean what was she thinking?!?!

Aww how nice. You should had jumped over the counter, grabbed her and tie her on a leash to the mail box..

:eek::eek:How can people even think about tying the dog up to a pole outside somewhere while they go shopping or eating.. I would be afraid that someone would steal them and besides it's summertime... the dogs would die of heat exhaustion.... what mentality on some damn people...:eek::eek::eek:

I'm really beginning to believe there is something in the air people are breathing how else could there be this many stupid, noncaring idiots walking around.

I couldn't imagine tying my dog up outside! I wish more people had common sense...

I have a gate on my front porch, but I NEVER leave my dogs on the porch without me being outside. I close the gate, so that when we are drinking our morning coffee I do not have to worry about them getting off the porch. That being said, I could never tie out one of my boys. If you would not do it to a skinbaby why would you think it is okat to do to a furbaby?

But then I have to remind myself that we had Animal Humane Societies in this country before we had Child Protective Services.

I would have been upset too. :(

I dislike people who think dogs are just accessories and can be flung aside when they are inconvenient. I've called the base police when I walked by a van with the windows barely cracked and heard dogs barking. I stood next to that car for a while, I could tell they were small dogs from the little barks, when the owner didn't come to the car I called the cops. They came out, sent one into the "base mall" to find the owner while the other wrote them a ticket.

Too bad stupid doesn't hurt.

People are sooooo stupid. I wish it wasn't illegal to take the baby out of the car. I would be hard pressed to scoop him up and steal him. Poor little dog.

We have a big prime outlets center near my dads house and I know someone who works there and has found two dogs this summer tied up outside, left with NO water, too. People are SO stupid.

Wow, seriously.
I would never do that ever, I'm afraid of my yorkie getting stolen! LOL

some people have no hearts I cant go anywhere without my baby speically now that im homing a 8 week old toy poodle i always take him and momo to my grandmas to be watched while i go food shopping or anything. even today i went to the bank and had my sister stay in the car with them with the ac on! i would never tie my babies up anywhere (oh my i said babies! lol )

they dont deserve to have a dog
