Getting a second Yorkie Hello. I have a female Yorkie (Biddy) and she is a year and a half. In 2 weeks I am picking up a 12 week old male Yorkie puppy. Any advice on introducing the two? Biddy is great with other dogs but I'm not sure how she will react in her own home. Thanks!! |
Introduce them in a "neutral" territory. It might also work if you start taking toys to Biddy that smell like the new puppy, and vice-versa... |
Thanks - I'll try that. Just not sure how the princess will react to sharing the attention! |
everyone says neutral territory but with brownie it was different i tryed all the time out side our home and it never worked when we got kayko we just brought him and gave him to brownie and said it was his baby he liked that idea and now there best buds :D if you said you dog like other dogs you should have no problems good luck cant wait to see pics :D |
I have to say it is an Kayko and Brownie as exceptions...most dog will feel defensive in seeing another dog in his territory, there is even dogs that play on the street but when they go inside they fight...i really think these little guys have a personality of their own so each case is a different one:) |
i think cause brownie had a broken heart cause we had just lost our silky we tryed with other dogs but he loves his baby :D |
But u know, i think some dogs just won't get along (just like people) My rescue chihuahua was always agressive around other male dogs, but with Mojo since day 1, there was no hostility...i was so thankfull for him...it was like a match made in heaven...so i guess i have a clue on what kayko and brownie have!:) |
