Washable Potty Pad Users Just wondering if any of you had come up with any ingenious ways of holding your washable potty pads. I have one who likes to pee on the edges and so I have actually put the pad in a plastic pan that is used for mixing cement (Menards) and have just cut a little hole in the side for her to enter. It works great but it sure doesn't look very pretty. Anyone have any other ideas? Or any other ideas that just keep the potty area looking a little "nicer"? |

I originally made some small pee pads out of terrycloth. I found some white towels on sell for $1.00 and made some pee pads. They worked for several years because Joey was a one pee user. As he has gotten older, he pees less frequently, larger amounts and many times on the same pad, and I found that sometimes I had leakage because there’s no inner liner on my homemade pads. Anyway, I bought some large 36x36 pads at petsmart and placed it under the homemade pads. If he goes on the edge there’s no problem. |
I placed Ziva's rainy day garage set up on the 18" x24" cover of a 32 gal.rubbermaid tote (flip upside down), the small lip is just enough to stop run out and not enough for her not to want to step up on. |
I use this: ![]() I just put the disposable pee pads on the base (I use TBumpkins&Co) and then I just put the frame ontop and clamp it closed. Teddy lifts his leg and it ends up getting on the top of the plastic but none on the floor! |
Where did you all get your washable pee pads? |

Washable pee pads I just got some from ebay - the seller is "rye444" --- I got a dozen but they sell them in lots of 6 as well. Looks like they're a lot less expensive than those at T.Bumpkins - not as cute, but pretty cute :-) Don't know how they'll work yet as I don't get my puppy until next week, but they seem quite substantial. It's worth a shot anyway. |

Congrats on the new pup! :) Post some pics when you get him/her |
I use a plastic tray out of a metal dog crate under mine. Works great. |
I have a edge pee-er too. I usually put either a baby bed liner or a youth bed liner under the potty pad. I have bought potty pads from TBumpkins a while back (6 months or longer) and they are still in great condition. I have also bought the ones from Petsmart before I bought from TBumpkins. If you don't have those things on hand to use under the potty pad, you could use an old beach towel or a regular towel I have done that too. |
Doggy litter box! They have to get in it to use it, and everything is contained inside the box, not on the floor  |
This was a total accident. I have replaced all my old crates with the new metal wire ones. I took the old crates apart and was going to hose them down, then yard sell them. When a puppy went into the bottom 1/2 of the crate and peed on my cleaning towels. Now the bottom of the old plastic crate holds a 20 by 16 washable pee pad. And works perfectly even when Rubin lifts his leg to pottie. |
