Brushing teeth side effects??
 
My husband and I have been brushing Gizmo's teeth every night. However, I just started to notice that his eating habits have been changing. This occured right after he started using the doggy toothpast and brushing nights.

Then I looked at the toothpaste and noticed it was made in Chine!:eek:

I feel like a bad mom! :( When we would brush his teeth he had a look on his face of like wanting to vomit.

The the paste is making him quesey acting funky?? If anything gets too out of hand I'm taking him to the vet. But I just can't believe I forgot to check to see where the tooth paste was made!

Oh geez, I wouldn't have thought to look at that either. Hope, he is feeling better and gets back to his good eating habits. What is the brand of paste?

Could make him nauseous or irritated. We only use CET.

After I saw the label "MADE IN CHINA" I did a tooth paste search on here and saw CET mentioned many times. Going to have to pick up a bottle. Poor little guy.

We use PetrodexPetrodex and it's been great. It's made in the USA. Someone took a picture of the toothpaste to show that the paste is made in USA. ;) We also feed our babies CET dental chews every other night.

Tooth paste
 
I get my doggies tooth paste from the Vet office. I haven't had any problems with my babies - I also use Pet Life Gel and Spray to reduce plaque.

We are also fans of CET toothpaste. We love the vanilla mint flavor.

I use Petrodex also, poultry flavor. Works great.

I check for "made in China" on everything now, for myself or my baby. My last baby died from poisonous dog food (remember that from a few years ago? she was eating Nutro). Needless to say that I don't buy anything Made In China any longer.

I use Leba III daily for my boys. Max is 1 and has no buildup of tartar at all and his teeth are super white. Cooper is 3 and we went to the vet today. The vet checked his teeth and said they look fantastic.

I'm happy to answer any questions you may have however you should probably consult with your vet. As far as YT goes, it's a fairly controversial product as it does contain a small amount of alcohol. With that being said I have consulted a few vets and they all believe it is perfectly safe for my dogs.

We're going to take him off of it tonight and see what happens behavior wise if there's no change, then I think a trip to the vet is in order.
