Lawn Fertilizer
 
Hi all,
The lawn people came today and put down fertilizer on my front and back lawn. It looks like little tiny balls. We can't water it until tomorrow night. My question is: How long do you keep your dogs off the grass. My worry is for the dog not the grass. Thanks to any who know!

I would keep your dogs off of the grass until at least 24 hours after you water down the fertilizer. Personally, I would wait longer and after a good rain,

Rain would be nice, but...like the song says..."it never rains in California...." :D so I will have to rely on the watering system. Thanks for your post.

We have either one or the other! This time of year...no rain.:(

I would wait several days after the lawn has been watered. One of mine had a bad reaction to fertilizer and ended up in the ER. We didn't know the lawn people had fertilized.

Thanks! I just looked up something on the web about 48 hours after watering. Sounds about like what was said in the last post (Patti). I have a small neighborhood park across the street. We have been going there for the last couple of hours. What a pain! Then I asked the neighbor next door if we could use their lawn in the middle of the night...no problem. I told them I bet they had never been asked permission for a dog to "go" on their lawn before! It is not wise to be wandering in the park after dark, even though it is a good neighborhood. :rolleyes:
