~ Savannah's Spaying 3 Attachment(s) Savannah had her big day on Friday. She made it through her spaying without any problems what-so-ever. Her mommy & I were very anxious, but nothing to worry about. We dropped her off at 8:30 am and picked her up at 4:00 pm. She was pretty out of it for the rest of the day, but woke up at 3:30 am, ready to go! Completely back to normal! Other pertinent information: Cost $281.75, Isoflurane gas used, she weighs 4lbs 8 oz, and she turned six (6) months old on 11/10/05 and had not gone through a heat cycle. For all the other worried parents out there, don't give it another thought! Here are some pics of her stitches and her most recent glamour shot: |
SO glad to hear she did well with her spaying!!! Her stiches look good too!!! :) |
Thanks Cali is a litle over 5 months old and I am so scared of getting her spayed. Is that the gas all vets use or should I make sure that's what my vet will use! |
I'm glad she's doing ok! |
I am so glad she did so well. My little female is about the same size and did well when she was spayed also. |
So glad she did fine. Mine was spayed last month and she did great, too. LOL I took pics of her tummy, too! :D |

I am so scared to get Aria spayed. We are trying to get her scheduled within the next couple weeks. I want to make sure she is all good for the Holidays. Savannah's incicion looks great...I hope Aria's incision will be that small....she weighs approximately 3.5 lbs. Anything to worry about reagrding the anesthisia? |
Glad that everything went okay! She looks like a real trooper! |
 We just had our baby spayed today. We took her in at 8:00 am & picked her up at 4:00. They wanted to keep her overnight but there was not going to be anybody there & nobody to check on her all night so we said no. It was such a long day waiting & we were so excited to pick her up that we didn't think to ask many questions & they didn't tell us anything about what to expect. Never even saw the vet. Only assistants. Should they have given us anything for pain? Is there anything we can give her to make her more comfortable? She ate & drank a little but can't seem to get comfortable & looks so sad. She hasn't gone potty yet either. Any advice anyone has would be greatly appreciated. I know I won't sleep at all tonight. |

They said they used staples & we're to take her back in about 10 days to remove them. She had 2 baby teeth out too & also was microchipped. We live in a really small town that rolls the sidewalks up at night and the total fee all together was only $137.50. I just feel bad that I didn't ask more questions. I just wanted to get her home. She was so excited to see us. Thanks for your help. I knew I could get some answers from people who love their Yorkies as much as I do. |

They did say not to feed her very much so she wouldn't get sick because of the anesthesia. I'm glad you took her home. They are much better off at home than in a cage with big dogs barking all around them and no one there. That is something that irritates me no end. :( |

The one thing the vet really emphasized was to limit her food and water ( in small amounts) for that night, because most dogs after anesthesia want to eat and drink alot, which makes them very nauseous. As far as asking questions, I actually met with the the vet who does the surgery at the animal hospital the day before her appointment and asked every question I could think. My wife and I were a little freaked out because this is our first "little" dog and it seems like there's some many things to worry about. He was very patient and answered all my questions. He assured me that we didn't have to worry about her weight as she wasn't going to set any records with him. His smallest spay patient was 1 lb.3 oz. :p If you have any reservations at all, make sure to ask lots of questions. |
