Dogs For Sale on the Side Of The Road - But Not Today! 1 Attachment(s) Typical Sunday afternoon in south Louisiana. It was about 95 degrees, but with the humidity it felt like 1000. I was on my way to Walmart to pick up some packing tape when I noticed an all too familiar scene - dogs for sale on the side of the road. I didn't approach the woman or the dogs. Why bother? Am I going to tell them that selling dogs on the side of the road is wrong? It wouldn't matter. This clearly is her livelihood. So, I called the police in reference to animal cruelty. They arrived within 10 minutes. I left and went to Walmart. By the time I was done shopping the woman was gone and there was not 1 person on the side of the road selling dogs. Maybe I can make a small difference next weekend too. Attachment 349180 |
:thumbup:: Good for you!! |
That truly is sad . . .people have no common/moral sense . . .really!!?? |
Thanks for helping, these poor dogs, it is a shame that people don't care. I guess they will just go somewhere else. |
It isn't common to see that around here. I can't imagine she would be comfortable in such conditions why on earth would she think that a dog wearing a fur coat would be okay? |
Poor dogs got a break today, thanks to you! |

Way to go Karen! Poor puppies sitting out in the heat. :( I'm so glad our county put an end to roadside sales. |
Good for you, Karen.:) Hopefully it will at least make her feel uneasy if she does it again, wondering if the cops will come. I think it's great that they did respond, and so fast. |
I'm glad the police responded so quickly! Way to go, Karen! |
They do this all the time at either the local Target/Walmart. Now I know what to do when i see them next time. |
I never see this in Georgia near me, but we have strict animal cruelty laws. |
How great of you to take action and make a difference |
That's great. Everyone CAN make a difference. |
Karen, thank you for thinking so fast. You might have saved some doggy lives today! |
Iuse to see them outside shopping malls .. Now that I live in a small town I don't see it. I am very glad you called the police. Good job. |

I used to think it was normal since I grew up seeing that. It wasn't until I had my first dog that I learn how precious and delicate they can be. Those people have no heart. |
I never see that around here, but I would definitely call the cops too! Those poor puppies. |

Good job, Karen. Keep up the good work.:thumbup: |
In my area, selling dogs on the side of the road is banned. But just a short drive down the road and you are in another jurisdiction where they don't care. Either that or they are at the flea markets selling them. Karen, I'm sure those puppies would give you lots of kisses if they could. |
Taking a break in grassy area by parking lot My sister and I took my conversion van and my two Yorkies for an outing at the Mall. After a fun trip thru PetSmart, we set up our camp chairs by the van and got out our lunch and the boys' water, snacks, etc. I was undone by the number of cars that slowed as they drove past and asked if we were selling dogs! OMG! We won't tailgate near the PetSmart lot again! |
