Excellent Breeder in Ohio? I raised a yorkie puppy for a breeder that’s been referred to as “excellent” on this site I got him at 3 wks old. She said she would sell him and give me the money or I could keep him. Now that I have fell in love and decided to keep him she refuses to provide me with his akc papers. I have contacted her several times trying to get them and she has a new story each time as to why. She now wants money from me? even more then she was going to give me for him. I paid for everything for this puppy vet bills and shots, formula. He was critically ill and I nursed him back to health. He would have died without my fulltime love and care. Doesn’t it seem unfair that I can not have his akc papers ? when she was going to sell him and give them the papers? |
Wondering if anyone esle here has had this problem or has any suggestions on how to get his papers? thanks for any help in advance |
Yes it does seem a bit unfair if that is what she is doing..was this baby the only one in the litter? if so she may not want to pay for registering one puppy AKC charges $20.00 plus $2.00 ea for every pup..welcome to YT glad to hear your baby is doing great..they are so precious :) |
No, there were 2 others puppys and they were both sold. Yes, they are wonderful I have 4 yorkies everyone akc but him |

Was there a reason why the pup was not with his mother at three weeks old? I am thinking something must have gone wrong, if you were taking care of one so young without its mom. |
I Think you should have been given the papers...offer to pay for them |
lisa- the mother would not care for him, the other puppys were bigger. Micah- I asked her what it would take for his papers she said 1800. which i feel that is very unfair when i saved his life |

You are right very unfair, most don't charge that much for a puppy so sorry this happened to you |
id galdy gave her the 22 ...I even offered her 300 just to keep everyone happy but she has been very loud and rude about the whole thing as of a matter factly NO I WANT 1800! she sold his liter mates for $500each |

She must have thought that he wouldn't make it...so sad just love him he is so lucky to have found you |
I would write down all the money you have spent on him..list everything, then deduct it from the $1800, and offer her the balance. I would think theres a good chance she will owe you money! |
Im curently in talks with akc it sounds like legally she has to give them to me and they are being very helpful about it. I just want others opinions on this matter thanks you have all been very helpful so far and thanks for the welcoming im gald we have some place to talk about all of other babies |
mollysmum54- oh how true all the er vet trips about lost him 3times, hospital stays with iv fluids |
he was by no means "free of cost" |
Do you have any written contract with her that you could have the puppy if you raised him, or an amount you had to pay to keep him? How can she prove the puppy came from her litter? Even though the AKC papers are imporatant, if you aren't breeding him do you have to have the papers? I would just keep the puppy you fell in love with and saved his life. |
