Sad Night For My Friend
 
I got a call about an hour ago from my friend Kathy.
She ran out earlier today to some run some errands.

Kathy and her hubby have a 4 yr old Chi, his name is Finnegan, When she got home she found Finn laying on the floor dead.

She ran Finn to the Vet to see if they could her what happened to Finn, he was a very healthy boy.

Finn choked to death on his food. She free feeds him so therefore food was always left out for him. Apparently his food went down the wrong way and he choked. There was still food in his throat.

This is just so very sad. She is just beyond filled with grief and sadness and blames herself for this.

Oh my gosh, how sad!!!

I'm so glad I don't free feed- that is scary to think about.

Ohh poor Finn !! I'll light a candle for dear Finn :(
I dont free feed my yorkie, he only gets food twice a day and eats it all everytime.

Oh my goodness. I free feed and never thought they could choke on the food. Now I'm freaking out!! :eek:

So sorry to your friend. What a terrible, terrible tragedy.

Oh my goodness.... I usually leave food out for Oliver... that is going to stop! My heart and prayers go out to them!

Aww. That's so sad. It was just a freak accident; your friend should not blame herself.

Many people free-feed; hopefully she will ease up on herself.

Sorry for your friends loss. This almost happened to me, I had scattered a little food on the floor for my 4 to have and Sassy, the baby must have got a piece hung in her throat, she fell on the floor and started shaking violently. I thought she was having a seizure, I picked her up, started crying and hollering at her. I did the Heimlich maneuver, ( I saw it posted on YT) and she started breathing again. I have never been so scared. I would never leave food down for them. Prayinf for your friend.

How horrible! Tibbe eats the smallest bits of food and he does eat his pieces of food one at a time so I sure hope he is safe. I feel horrible for our friend!

I am so sorry about your friend's loss. RIP little Finn. This is a wake-up call for me because I am always afraid they might get hungry and I always have a bowl or two down for them. Not going to free feed anymore. I always supervise them with treats but never thought about the choking on food. How sad. Poor little Finn.
