Happiness amongst the sadness...meet Mason and Morgan! 3 Attachment(s) With the flood here, there have been so many lost or found dogs and cats. They get displaced and lose their sense of security and take off looking for home or familiar sights. Today my daughter called to say she saw on facebook that a lady had found two yorkies and if she didn't hear from the owners soon, she would have to take them to the pound, as she is an evacuee living in a motel. My daughter called her and asked her to please bring the yorkies to the pet store where she was working, and that we would take care of them and find their owners. The lady brought them there and I and my friend who is staying here (her home is destroyed) went to the pet store to pick up the yorkies. It was a girl and a boy...the boy was about 4 pounds and the girl about 5.5. They were both so adorable and well cared for with nice hair cuts. When we got them home, my girls were so excited to see them. I held them for a while so they could see my girls and not feel threatened. I then set them down and the little boy attacked Maddie! My gosh...for being such a little thing, he sure went after her. I quickly picked up Maddie and didn't see any cuts or blood, but she was so scared. Her heart was pounding and she seemed to be having spasms in her chest. After Maddie calmed down, I put my girls inside the sunroom and that little boy dog tried to attack Maddie through the screen. I then decided I'd put them in the playpen to keep my girls safe from this wild and crazy little yorkie. I called the police and sure enough...they had a report of 2 lost yorkies. I called the guy and asked for descriptions of his yorkies and he described them perfectly. He was SOOOO happy and said he would be right over to pick them up. He said their names were Mason and Morgan. I put my girls in a bedroom and shut the door and let Mason and Morgan run around until their owner got here. The owner said they were moving back home...that he had somehow avoided flooding when all his neighbors did flood. Mason and Morgan got away and he had been searching for them and so scared they would be run over or drink flood water. I don't know who was more excited to see each other...the yorkies or their daddy! I just feel happy tonight, having reunited those babies with their owner. I haven't felt happy since this terrible flood hit, but tonight I feel happy. Here's some pictures of them...not the greatest as they weren't good at holding still. Two adorable little yorkies are back home tonight with their loved ones! PTL! |
Such a wonderful story and happy ending. (Except for the attack part, of course) Glad you were able to help out with the reunification of the humans and Yorkies. |

I lived in Miami when Andrew hit and it was hard. Now..it is just a fade memory and "stories" to share with family and friends.
