She's off schedule! What happened? For the nearly 2 years that I have had Roxie, she has always had just one bowel movement a day. She usually goes late morning/early afternoon and that's it for the day. Well, for the past 3 days or so she has been pooing twice a day - once in the morning and once in the evening. I am a little worried that something is wrong. She is eating, drinking, playing, and sleeping normally. Am I being paranoid? |
Have you changed anything in her diet? Is she on any medication? Those are two things that change Sophie Kates schedule. Also is there anything different going on at home, maybe out of town guests? Only speaking from my own experience but the "schedule" can be broken, the best thing to do is get them back on a schedule ASAP - maybe she just needs to go twice a day now. |
Same food, no meds. The only difference is that I am on summer vacation and am home all day instead of at work. There is a lot more coming and going of DBF and I (him working, errands, the gym, etc.), but that's about it. |
My two seem to change their habits when I'm home for the summer too. I've also noticed that they go more when they are more active. So if you and DBF are home more and there is more activity in the house, your pup may just be napping less and having to potty more. Going back to work in the fall is even worse. The last two years (since we've had them) they both started having accidents for a few weeks around the time I went back to work in the fall, even though we take them out to potty at the same times all year. We finally realized that is was probably the change in not having Mommy home during the day. Fingers crossed for this year. They seem to be sensitive to even the littlest changes in routine. |
I notice when I'm home all day w/ Jackson, he will have to go more in general. Maybe just because they can, or maybe because they are not just laying in one spot sleeping all day, etc. It's normal for him to go 2x a day but sometimes it's 3x if he's more active or I'm home more. |
Ugh, this morning she has diarrhea...totally liquid. Is there something I could give her, like Pepto? The last time she had diarrhea it was a bacterial infection, and she was on antibiotics for a week. Help! |
Almost $200 later...we have antibiotics after a trip to the vet. :( She threw up in the car and then again when we got home. I now have the sad little soul in her playpen because I don't want her barfing and pooing all over the house like she did the last time we had this. *sigh* |
So sorry to hear your little one is not feeling well- I am glad she saw a vet and is on the road to recovery. |
