Little introduction and some questions... 4 Attachment(s) Well hello again to everybody...!! I to have a Yorkshire Terrier, my beutiful Klaire, she is now 8 months and 3 days old. I got her around 72 days from a so calld breeder, because he proved to be nathing but a fraud with State license. That is why she has no pedigree. I tryed to stay away from pet shops, BYBs and puppy millers but I still chose wrong... embarrassing Ι know. Νener the less my little one has poved herself healthy and hope that she will remain so in the futere. She weighs now 2.500 gr,that is apr. 5,51 lb, she 's potty trained since the first days (she picks itup very quikly) and been training in basic obedience with me since the age of 3,5 months and she is able to perform basic commands like "sit", "down", "stay", or "heel" (in two diferent ways simple one for the walk and competitive - like the german sheperds or malinois do in Schh.) and some tricks like "talk", "play dead", "hand" or "roll over" etc. She 's being trained mostly with klicker training and only verbal correction. When she is all grown up and her development complete we are going to do some agility training just for fun...! :) Well now the question about her coat... (I did post thw same question in an other thread but got no response except from a p.m. from another kind member), so pls if you don't mind I do appreciate opinions of other experienced members on that matter... I can not tell if my Yorkie is soft or silky coated... Does she still wear her puppy coat in that age, and if so when does she get the adult coat. I've got some photos of my yorkie and her mom, mabe you can take a look and tell my something more. In the last foto is her mom named Queen. Her sir is silky coated and dark steel blue colord. Thanks in advance... |
Klaire is a beauty. And sounds like she is very quick at learning! That is so great! :) I am not an expert by any means. It looks like maybe she will have the silky hair. At 8 months old Rosie's coat did not look anything like it does now. Hopefully someone with more knowledge can give you more information. |
Thank you very much for your response, Ι think she looks nice to, but as a proude mom I can not be objective... :D She does anything for some treats... and I mean anything!! We started training early and we have developed a code of conduct so to say... and when I ask her to do something it is now easier for me and her to make her undertand what is that I want. Well it looks like we are 2-0 in terms silky or soft coated... I must say it is rather encouraging that your Υorkie also developed her coat after the 8 months of age. |
1 Attachment(s) I also think it depends on if you have their coat cut very short and it grows back. Tessie is 2 now and has very soft wavy hair and I never expected that when she was younger. Also the color can still change, if you have the top coat and baby hair cut. Tessie was black and gold as a puppy. |
