Billi keeps barking at me !!!!! I have 2 little dogs, Bobbi is 6 and Billi is 3. Billi is very highly strung and jumps at the slightest noise or sudden movements. She started barking at me about 4 months ago when ever I come into the room, and sometimes if I just stand up She doesn't do this to my husband or daughters, just me. Does anyone know why? it's very irritating especially if I'm answering the telephone. Ha !!!!:):):) Lynne xx |
I would guess she is just talking to you. She must think you understand her. Just a guess. I would tell her hush and reward her when she does. Good luck |
I would use a couple words to help her calm down. Simply tell her she is ok every time she barks at you. Or something like that . Just use a couple voice commands , and when she stops barking at you give her a treat and tell her good girl. Maybe your moving too fast for her? Sudden movements can make a sensitve dog bark. My dog is like yours. Both my 2 will bark when my son goes out of his room, they hear him but can't see him, so they bark. My son really hates it. |
Thank you for your replies, I'll try that, rewarding her when she stops barking. I forgot to mention that I walk using crutches, so I wondered if that was what she doesn't like, they may frighten her. She is very nervous and she was raised the same as Bobbi and she's quiet and placid. She's been socialized and meets lots of people including children but still jumps at any unusual noise. Toby barks when we sweep with a broom which is kind of like walking with crutches I guess. Hold on.... I just got a pair of crutches from when my wife broke her leg and sure enough he started barking at me. Plus dogs can sense when something is wrong with a person so she may just be worried about you. |
My Pixie is the same way. Every time I get up she goes nuts barking. Sometime i have wondered if it was a form of separation anxiety where she thinks I am leaving when ever I get up. She only does it for me too. I have tried everything and nothing works. She is very high strung as well. |
