I think I found the one for me!! :) Hi everyone!! As u know I've been searching for the perfect yorkie girl to join my family. :) Well after all the waiting searching and going through web sites after web sites and so on I think I finally found her. :D I'm sooo excited. I actually email the couple for more information & of course more pictures now after reading everything that has posted I am asking plenty of questions and making sure I can see mama and daddy :) I actually read a thread today about what to ask what to look for & so on...so Im prepared I believe. Wish me luck!!! :D |
Aww how exciting!! Please post pix :D |
Congratulations. Having patience is the hard part. Yesssssss pics please. |
Wonderful news!! Can't wait to see her! |
You have to tell us all about her and post pics. How exciting. |
That's great!! Keep us posted. |
Congratulations! Let us know how things turn out. |
Ooo how exciting hehe!! Bet you cant wait :D xxxx |
Im very excited!!! I even get to meet her soon. Shes not going to be from a breeder but a couple had left their babies at the mother in laws house and i guess it happened lol so she is getting spayed as soon as all the babies are off to her new home. I kept thinking im never going to find the one for me but boom! I did :) I was just wondering though should i wait to take my momo to meet her? i mean after the first shots or should i wait till she is home? and as soon as i take pics i will show u all how beautiful she is! |
Well... this is what i would do, but u might wanna do it different. I would go on my own at first and see how you feel asking all the questions u need to ask, also making sure you see both parents. One you have all the information you need and you hav e met your wee littke girl and know 100% she is the one for you, when she is old enough (i would wait till after 12 weeks old) i would introduce your dog to her. Thats how i would do it, but thats just me! How old is your puppy? Does she come with a health guarantee? AND have you thought of any names hehe!! :D xxxxx |
SHe was born last week but they are already taking a deposit for the pups now so that we can get weekly updates and they live kinda close i can go visit. :) I am actually getting ready now (waiting on DH) so we can go for a meet up at their house and i can get to see how they are living and meet mom and dad..from what im told mom is 5.5 pounds and dad is 3 so Im hoping i can get a little girl that gets big like mama only because my momo is a bigger size shih tzu and I dont want a tiny girl and she gets hurt when they play. I think i will wait till she is older, the only thing that worrys me is the health guarantee I dont get one because this is the only litter they will have i do get AKC papers but that still dont make up for the health. |
Yay! Good luck & keep us updated! =) |
SO I M VERY disappointed :( I went to the couples house earlier today and It was not what I expected!!! when we pulled up the yard was full of junk old toys trash and some grass patches here or there....we go inside and the smell is unbelieveable its so nasty i swear I was going to throw up in my mouth! my DH told me lets go as soon as he stepped in but I still wanted to see the babies. As I walked in to the "room" which was more of a cloest to me I seem the mom and babies as I looked closer their was poop and stuff i didnt even know what it was all in there it was like they were pooping and eating in the same space. I asked questions and so on...When i asked ot see the dad they called him in and he looked mixed now Im not big on the whole AKC thiong but I dont think that mix breeds can be AKC can they? so after all that and the hour drive im hurt and disappointed. I was so excited to have my baby but whats worst is how they were living...It made me sick. I told my DH I want to call the animal control or someone they should not live dirty and smelly all around I was upset. im sorry i had to vent! should i call the animal control? can they even do something for this??? |
So sad to hear this especially after you were so excited. This is terrible how the babies are being raised. I would call animal control, not sure if they can do anything. The puppies may not survive if they aren't taken care of properly. Hope you will not let this discourage you too much and you will find your furever yorkie. |
I would report them if it was me. That is a terrible situation. Sorry it didn't work out for you. |
Please report them. All pet owners have a responsibility to provide a minimum amount of care if they want to own a pet. |
Call animal control...and if they give AKC papers..contact AKC... |
I think i am going to call and see if there is anything they can do...I hasnt but it sure has opened my eyes to people |
So sad. Those babies deserve so much better. I would report them - at the very least it was trigger a home visit. My co-worker went to look at a lab baby - she got there, it was a mix and was in horrible conditions, with an eye infection. The family was not any better. She bought the dog and now three years later, she is one of the best dogs around. A little neurotic at times, but a great dog. The last two breeders I got my babies from lived in trailers and in very rural areas. The outside was nothing to write home about, but the inside was super clean and the babies were clean, very social and happy. The first one used to call the puppies babies and had them out with her in the living room/kitchen most of the time. She introduced me to the first yorkie she bred - a senior yorkie on a princess pillow - she was 21, toothless, and almost blind. But when she picked her up, there was lots of snuggles and kisses. She loved all of her babies. She even called me after the first week to make sure everything was okay. You cannot always judge a book by its cover - I commend you for going in. What you found when you went in was terrible. Don't let this experience bum you out too much. There are a lot of very good breeders who love and take care of all of their babies - moms, dads, and puppies. Hang in there. |
It's so heartbreaking... It's such a terrible discovery. And what makes it worse, you have a chance to rescue just one of those babies from a horrible existance. But that rescue rewards a breeder who should not be allowed to sell his/her pups. Did you see 'your' pup? If you did, you may as well take her. The image of her living in filth will haunt you all of your days. If you didn't, report the breeder and try to move on. There is a special place in Hell for people that can treat a sweet animal like that! |
thats so sweet. i wont give up some part of my heart is still saying go for it get the little baby and change her life for the better. My DH tells me he doesnt think its such a great idea because what if I should get this little mama and she doesnt have very good health and ends of passing away. I dont want to expect the worst but Im a sensitive person and if something of that nature did happen I think I would be broken. Im tore. does anyone think I should still go for it? Am I wrong to want to still adopt and bring her home? |
If she "spoke" to you so to speak - I say go for it. I know that may no be the popular thought since it does not address the issue of bad breeders, but this little baby will be so much better with a family like yours. Is the family bad off? (no excuse, I know) But if they are, I would consider taking some puppy food for the babies. Yes, I am a sucker and cannot look the other way. Pick the food you want to feed and see if they will let you bring some over - at least try to get some good nutrition for them. All of the babies in the litter and the baby momma will thank you. My precious Poppy died earlier this year from renal failure. Yes, I had to make that terrible decision to put her down on her 9th birthday. It was a pain greater than anything I had ever felt before. I still can not talk about loosing her. But I would not trade one tear for all of the memories she gave me. I have photos of her everywhere. It was like someone ripped my heart out of my chest when I lost her - but I still have to smile every time I see a photo of her. She was such a ham for the camera. I don't think it matters how long or short your time is with your fur-baby. The loss you feel will be great, but the joy you have with them is so worth it. Let us know what you decide. (I however think you have already made your decision :) |
I thought the puppies are too young to leave? I would keep in touch with them for a while and then take the puppy to the vet to make sure they are healthy and then make a decision. You certainly would be rescuing this baby and maybe keep her from going to a home where she won't be taken care of. |

I know it's hard to walk away from a puppy that you have seen and connected with, but I would take that money and invest it into a pup with a health guarantee and a breeder who will be there to support you throughout the pup's life. |
