Here is a site that might be able to help you find a home for your Pomeranian. I don't know anything about them, but you can check them out. I work with Silky Terrier Rescue groups and not Poms, but I'm sure they will find him/her a good home as most rescue groups have the fur babies lives in minds. Good luck. — New Jersey Pomeranian Rescue — ADOPTIONS —*RescueMe.Org |
Go to RescueMe.org. They might be able to help you. Good luck! |
For starts, you can try contacting the American Kennel Club: American Pomeranian Club National Rescue Coordinator: Rescue@AmericanPomeranianClub.org |
PLease try to re arrange your schedule and your husbands so your able to keep this dog. I am confused as to why your not rehoming both dogs? Your schedule is so tight , but your able to adust enough to keep the yorkie:confused: If it is that bad for you and your husband then rehome both. It seems like you just picked one dog , and are letting one go to fit your lifestyle. What if you have a child? How would you cope? Give the kid up? Just wondering. Your pom deserves better. Especially where ehe came from before you got him, now your turning your back on him. This is very sad and aggravating. :thumbdown |
I have only lived in apartments the entire time I have had my dogs, I have been in 5 different ones in the 4 years I have had Armani due to different circumstances, but each time I find a place that allows both of them. It takes a little more work and sometimes money but it can be done. |

What happens if the Yorkie doesn't keep up after the hunt? will she face similar scenario as the Pom down the road? Sounds like its all dependent on the lifestyle vs the life long commitment first made to these furbabies...so sad. |

I don't think you can dress up your reasoning to make it sensible to most here. You're making a deliberate choice so you can go off with your husband to lead other people to kill animals for sport...did I get that right? I'll pray for both your dogs. I really only think it's a matter of time before the Yorkie doesn't fit in, either. Taking a toy breed out in the deep woods for weeks at a time just sounds like you're courting disaster. Sooner or later (probably sooner) some emergency will come up and there will be no help for Tikka. If you give up on recouping any money, you might be able to find a good home for these babies. You owe them that much. |
The only advice I can give you is to please contact the rescue Pooter came from. Most rescues have a contract that requires you to return the dog when you no longer are capable of keeping him. If he was a re-home from an owner, that probably won't be possible. Pooter's best bet is to be placed with a pom rescue. Check out the links provided. I hope you find a rescue that can take him in. |
Here is a good place to start. I googled Alberta Pomeranian Rescue and these are some of the things that came up. I'm thinking you didn't "rescue" Pooter from a true rescue organization, but "rescued" him from an awful back yard breeder who charged you lots of money. In truth you bought him, and will be out the money unless you resell him. Well, I would place him with a true rescue group, and forget about the money you paid / invested. Consider it a tough lesson learned, and doing what is in the best interest of Pooter. A rescue group will find him a wonderful forever home. I know what I'm talking about. I do this everyday! I agree with Woogie Man, taking a Yorkie into the deep woods on hunting expeditions is courting disaster. I cannot imagine a Yorkie would make a good hunting companion. |
