d ring on clothes or use harness im thinking of getting some custom made dresses for coco soon now that shes about 7 months and wont grow as much. i was wondering do you guys get these clothe with d ring or do you prefer to use a harness on top? |
I prefer clothes with the slit on the back so the D ring can come through from the harness. It gives me the security of the harness, but doesn't take away from the appearance of the outfit. |
Depends on your dog, do you have one that pulls hard a lot on the leash? If so it may be better to have a harness in addition to the outfit, under or over, but if yours is pretty good on leash and the clothes are made sturdy with a D ring that's all you need. I used a harness with a MinPin no matter what he had on because he was such a strong puller, but my Yorkie and Pekingese have always had just the harness dress with built in D rings. |

Callie is a puller sometimes and she is crazy strong so I put her harness over her clothing with the buddy belt harness its soooo easy. I had a nice dress with a d ring on it and we went to a petsmart party and as soon as she pulled hard she bent the d ring and was free from the leash thank god she comes when called and there where no distractions. |
Zhoie isn't a puller and the harness dress works out great for us. I put them even on the ones I make too. Depends on where we are going, so sometimes I use just a harness. |
I prefer using his regular harness. Clothes made with the slit on the back are nice; otherwise I put his harness on over his clothes. Levi tends to pull on his leash when excited. Better safe than sorry. :) |
Thanks everyone! Coco pulls whenever she sees a pole because she claims she must go sniff. So i wasnt sure how secure the d rings were i guess at the time of order ill ask about the slit. That sounds like a great idea! |
Of my three, two are real pullers. I use the harness vests or dresses with D rings and have never had a problem. Velcro holds tight even with them pulling! |
