Aww!! Just more to love! :) Hope Zoe's spay goes well! I'm sure you are anxious to have her home! |

Well, the spaying surgery went very well and ZoE is already at home resting :). Talk about a sight that pulls at your heartstrings though...I've never seen her eyes so watery, like she's actually crying, and she just looks so sad. They gave her pain meds before she left & she has enough pain meds for 4 more days. Pre-op blood work was all good, microchip readable, the incision is small & neat and they didn't shave off any hair for the IV....so all in all, excellent outcome! |
Awe. So glad to hear Zoe surgery went well. I know what you mean pulling at the heartstrings:( poor baby. Louie at 7months continued to add on a couple of pounds, so ya never know. |
Just sayin... Gizmo likes bigger woman :p (he love's my mom's 20lb Cairn Terrier) I think ZoE and Giz need a play date! Hehe! |
After her spay, my Gwenni gained another pound. She's hovering right under 8 lbs now at 2 :) As others said, just more to love. Glad her spay went so well. |
While I love tiny dogs I have to say I have had to put a lot of effort into my tiny dog to protect her from herself and others. I'm sure you love you little one no matter how big she gets. I never had the anxiety with my Shih Tzu that I have with Gracie. She is so little and yet thinks she is so big. My Shih Tzu was 13 pounds. Gracie is 4.5. She is over a year now but I am still hoping she might grow some more. |

Mine pretty much quit growing at around 5/6 months...then after a year "or so" - a little more muscle mass gained probably a 1/2 pound then. The spay will probably pack on another pound...but I wouldn't worry about it...I think it depends on their body type. One of mine is 6.2 pounds yet is "slight" in build...people are always surprised they think she weighs 4 or 5 pounds. Then I have another one that is just under six pounds and is "solid" - looks like about 8 pounds to me. I also have a 5 1/2 pounder who is a good inch shorter in height than the 4 1/4 pounder and a couple inches shorter in body length and people think the 5 1/2 is like 3 pounds and smaller than the one who weighs over a pound less than her. They are what they are. |
