What is the best harness/leash setup for my little Henry? Hello, Looking for advice on a harness/leash setup for little Henry. He's only like 2.5 lbs and so small. TIA - Sean |
I like the step-in harnesses, they don't pull on the throat, which is the biggest worry. When Gabby was still tiny (sighh), I found a great small leash/step-in harness combo for her at PetLand. |
A step in harness. For Henry you might want to look at some of the sites here. There is someone that makes custom harnesses. Mina was 3lbs when I brought her home. I sew,so I made a fabric harness for her. She wore it until she got big enough for a store bought harness. Measure Henrys neck (where his collar sits), his girth ( just behind the front legs, around the ribcage) and length (from where collar sits to base of tail). This will help you get the correct size. Remember that he is going to grow so you will need for it to be able to get a little bigger. Even after I purchased a stepin harness for Mina (PetSmart),I had to adjust the size almost everytime she wore it. |

Also I've seen lil pals harnesses at petco that are for tiny dogs, maybe one of those would work? I personally like step in harnesses. |
I tried the lilpals from Petco when Mina weighed 3lbs. It was still to big,but a ferret harness is a great idea. Look on the cat ile as well. I know that I got bowls and a stand for them at Petsmart for $10 and the bowls are stainless. |
My little boy was so tiny we had to use a kitten harness . It worked well for us |
