question?? when i call bella her ears go down and she walks over with her head down like shes sad does this mean anything? she does it when i walk over to her to stroke her somtimes she just looks sad and her ears go flat randommm |
i may be wrong but I think she is being submissive// my 13 yr old female jack russell terrier does that// always have |
what does that mean ? lol hope shes not scared of me :( |
Submissive means that the dog is not going to fight you or be aggressive. Anther thing they do is to roll over on their backs. It is a sign of trust. My yorkie is more on the anxious side. She will sit right up next to me on the couch or lay down, but as soon as I reach to pet her she jumps off the couch. She will let me pet her only on her terms. I know she is fine with it because sometimes her reaction is to jump on me and start licking my face. |
aww dont think shes afriad of me she just walks over slow lol she dosent do it to my bf tho only to me, im deffos the boss tho she wont be naughty for me and when i tell her to drop somthing she does it straight away for me and not for my bf lol but i kno shes loves me shes always coming for cuddles :) tanx for the help people :)) |
My German Shepherd does that very same thing, I had to go to the German Shpherd forums to find out that it was just submissive behavior as well. When I first got her about 9 months ago, mind you she is full grown, when I approached her she would immediatly lower her head and drop down almost to a crawling position. I thought maybe she had been abused or something but that was not the case. As she has gotten to know me, she no longer goes down to the crawl position, but if I call her she will come to me with her head lowered, in a slow walk to see what I want. When I am done with her and say ok..you can go...she transforms into this excited ball of energy running jumping and playing. I had to get use to that. Cynthia |

When I come home and my boys greet me, they have their ears curled down around their heads while they bobble on their hind legs and wave their arms. I love it. If your dog socializes with other dogs, watch what she does with her ears and head position. The way she feels toward the other dog will show in her body language, ears being a big signal. |
Brandi does it too but I never thought she was sad or even being submissive, when Brandi does it, it's more begrudglingly sort of like "what do you want now" kinda of thing. Like she's doing me a favor coming to me when I call her. |
She may know that you are going to pick her up or put her up and she may just want to continue to play. |
