Is DJ Aggressive? Hi, All I have a question about growling. DJ growls when he plays with his toys, I mean he growls like he's fighting with a german shephard or something. I heard him on night growling and moving around alot, he was in my bathroom in the corner of the wall and the tub scratching like a bone was buried under there, growling and turning in circles. When the episode was over he trotted out with his tail wagging and went and lay on his pillow. That was the second tub assault. The first one I didnt see but heard but when I saw him go back in, I followed him. Are his growling fits aggression? He gets lots of exercise, runs in the front and fenced back yard until he lays out on the grass. Plays with his fur sister so much I have to separate them to get some sleep. Does he have a problem? Sorry so long just worried. |
Does he growl when you approach him? Or is this just when he's doing thing with the bone or toy?? If it's the latter then I don't think it's aggression, but I would watch for it. Different dogs make different sounds when playing. My old Cairn, Cammie, would play with her cow like it was a rabid and she needed to kill it. She would literally try to tear the thing apart and make these noises that sounded like a car engine starting. However, she was not agressive. We called it "cow aggression" but that's because whenever we played ith it those were the sounds she made. Anywho, it doesn't sound like Mr. DJ is agressive. Just sounds like he's "killing" his "prey". But just watch out to make sure he's not turning it into agression. By the way, so happy you got the brother. Hope everything is going good! |
Hi, Taryn. Thanks for answering. No, he doesnt growl when we go to pick him up or play with him or even when we move him around when he's eating but when he gets a toy he loses his cool. LOL. Even when he and Shanti (fur sister) are playing he doesnt growl that way except when he gets a good grip on her tail. She lets her tail down so he can have it then they go in circles. It's too funny. He's lying beside me asleep right now, I just hope it's his way of giving the ole KAPOW to his toys. |
