Tricks What tricks does your yorkie know??? Cali is a smart pup (love treats!!:)) and at 14 weeks can already Sit, Down, Roll over, give paw, high 5, leave it, play dead. What else do you teach them?? She loves learning new tricks :D |
I'm inspired! My Bella knows "sit", "down", "come" and "up" (she stands on her hind legs :) but I'm working on "paw", "hi-five" and "roll over"... She is 18 and a half weeks and is a work in progress, but such a joy! Thanks for sharing and thanks for the inspiration! ~Juanita |
ohh "up" is a good one, will try this one, thanks!! :) |
|
ohh Jackson is awsome :) (and very cute!!)!!! You taught him so many tricks!!! How old is he? How long did it takes to learn all that?? |
.. and love the socks one by the way ;) need to teach Cali that one for sure!! |
Secret is 20wks and he can sit, lay, roll over, shake, spin, drop it, and leave it. |
awww all ur furbabies sound so smart!!! :) jackson is a very smart boy! |
Coco's 5 but she's really hard to train. She is really afraid to lie on her back, I really don't know why, but she can't roll over or play dead. She can... Sit shake on both sides High 5 on both side lie down spin 3 times sit pretty dance close the cupboard where we get her treats hide her face come when a whsitle is blown catch a little egg in her mouth when I say catch and throw it in the air and I think that's it. :D |

Carmel knows: sit, stay, lay down, sit pretty, up and spin, crawl, "go to daddy", come, roll over, "bang bang", high five, gimme hand...and I think that's it... Emma knows: sit, stay, lay down, spin, "bang bang", spin, roll over, high five, come, and gimme hand. She doesn't know as much as Carmel... |
Louie will sit stay lay rollover and catch toys in the air, and he is starting to try to throw his own toys in the air and catch them. Also he will dance and has the leave it command down, But for the life of me he will not come on command. so we try to work around it. We tell him to stay and then go get him. He is still a work in progress.Very stubborn with the come command lil stinker:eek: |
Pippin is almost 8 months. He can "sit", "down", "up", "paw", "touch" (the kinda does this body slam with both of his paws into my hand), "bow" (his front legs are down in his elbows, but his behind is sticking up in the air), "leave it", "stay" and "on your bed" (very helpful to get him out of the way sometimes - he goes on his bed lays down and stays). We're working on "roll over", "crawl" and "heel" right now. |
Eleanor is 15 weeks old and I started teaching her commands at 10 weeks. Her commands are: watch me, come, sit, stay, lay down, roll over, drop it, go to bed, army crawl (she does it more like army hopping), kisses, potty, circle and my favorite, "girlfriend" which is most dogs "shake". I cant think of what to teach Eleanor next. She loves to learn, and perform for her puppy food, lol, so her meals are a lot of fun for us both. |
Okay, well mine know to go potty on the pee pads - sort of a trick, maybe if you twist your head when you say it. We are working on sit, down, and come, but with two of them, they tend to get distracted easily. They are almost 19 and 17 weeks and super smart - but like gifted human kids they are just not applying themselves yet! |

I can't wait till I get my baby, I hope and pray she is as smart as all of yours. How long each day to you work on tricks? |

You guys are all amazing. I must be real slow because Oz only knows sit and speak (both hand, not voice, commands). We've had him for almost a month, but all we were concerned about at first was potty training. I hope that over the next two months we can teach him all the basics. Can anyone suggest a good site or youtube videos that are good for learning how to train a dog? |
AWW, Jackson is sooo cute !! wonderful yorkie you have ! I love his tricks :D Fido knows: Walk with heel Sit by heel Lay at heel Stay Come Sit down when he's walking towards me (Im teaching him to lay down too !) High Five Awesome ! (then he putts both his front paws on my hand and sits up while doing it) Bye bye! (waves) Sit Lay down Roll over Roll over many times in a row Up (stands on his feet) Ohhh there is some more but I can't remember at the moment! And also he can do all the tricks on command and also by a sign that I either give with my hand or my feet ! I teach him everything with both words and signs incase he would go blind some day or couldnt hear :) Also its nice to not have to say something so he will do it, just do something with my hand or foot :) |
Oh one thing I remembered, Fido knows how to crawl ! |
Brit, Jackson is such a cutie! Love the video and of course the star-Jackson! :) My 2 know: sit, come, down, crawl, right and left paw, dance, spin, stay, roll over, leave it, Hot Rod knows speak. kisses (from them to me and then from me to them-they will hold their turn their head so I can kiss them) high five, currently teaching - give me five (difference of not jumping up). touch--this is done several ways: touch me, or run over and touch daddy. I also use to jump thru a hoop and from one spot to another (I use 2 ottomons). I was starting to teach catch per another thread on here but it wasn't going well. I need to get back on it. |

And, Brit, I don't know if I never saw that Jackson vid or if I wiped it out of my memory in jealousy! He's a trick god! |
my baby Ziggy is 11 weeks old (turning 12weeks on thursday) and he is soo smart! he knows: sit, stay, down, jump up, sit pretty, roll over, drop it, go potty, goodnight and mama hold(so he stands still while i pick him up)... only problem is, he's so stuborn, he'll only listen when he wants to, lol |
arg i forgot: high 5, dance(he jumps up but stays up for longer and walks around) and kiss mama |
Can anyone suggest a good site or youtube videos that are good for learning how to train a dog? |
