almost 5 months old & no color change ? hi :) my yorkie puppy is going to be 5 months old on the fourth of july & the only color change he has had is on the very top of his head his roots are blonder but nowhere else . i see other yorkies around the same age & they are going blonde but Chumlee isnt yet. Does this mean he is going to stay mostly black or is his hair just changing slower than others ? |

Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question...I just wanted to say Chumlee is adorable :) |
aww thanks so much ! its awkward picture but he is the most adorable little boy ever ! he stole my heart since day 1 & is such an amazing little puppy :) & hes such a little guy . hes only 2 lbs ! |
Chumlee is adorable. It looks like his coat will be silky. Usually the puppies that break early end up being the lighter steel blue. From the picture I would say the hair on the head will eventually turn into a pretty gold and the body will probably be a steel blue. Sometimes it takes up to two years for the head to completely clear. Time will tell. |
ok :) thank you so much ! |
I need to add that it is really hard to tell from the picture but if you puppy happens to be soft coated and not silky coated then it is possible his head will stay dark and he could end up not clearing and always have black hairs mixed in on his head. It is hard to tell on some yorkies until they get much older, what color they will be. |

OMgosh Chumlee is a real sweetheart! Can't help about the coat....but he sure is a cutie pie :D |
Memphis is 11 months old and at 5 months he looked a lot like your pup. Now his head is gold and light brown although he has retained quite a bit of black on his body (the top, his belly is quite light). Your pup is adorable. |
