Zach Takes A Dive I never thought of Zach jumping into the pool because he hates water but yesterday my friend and I were swimming in our above ground pool and we heard a splash. When we turned around we saw Zach in the water struggling to stay afloat. We ran to him and lifted him out of the pool. Thank God he was only stunned. We never leave the pool gate opened when we are not around but when we swim we have to keep it open because the lock is on the outside. Now we learned that the dogs can not be in the yard while the pool gate is opened. This dog is going to be the death of me one day. He does such crazy things |
Did he fall?! Scary! My dads dog Lilly has fallen into the pool a few times, she is not big on swimming (she likes to lay on the step though) but she is VERY toy focused so sometimes she doesn't realize how close she is to the side of the pool and plop.... Maybe invest in a lifejacket? Even though Jackson is a super good swimmer, I still like the security of having one on him, even though we don't use it all the time. |
It's a thought maybe we should. The problem it I would have to order 5 lifejackets. |
So sorry you had a scare with your little one. Thank goodness you were there!! They really do some crazy things. They are just soooooo nosy they get into everything. He must have just slipped off the side. Poor little guy!! Glad all is well though. |
We also have an above ground pool. Just like with my kids I have trained all of the dogs (5) to jump into the pool and swim to a lounge float that stays in the pool. Some dogs do not swim well at first,so we have swim time/lessons for the dogs everytime I get in the pool. When one of my poodles was younger he would run up the steps when it wasnt swim time. I was so afraid that he would jump in when he wasn't suppposed to that I wanted to make sure that he knew what to do if he landed in the pool when noone was there. |
