Anyone have a Pet Gear playpen? I'm interested in the Pet Gear playpen and was wondering if anyone here has one, and what they think of it size & quality wise. I have the Pet Gear stroller in sage & I'm hoping this playpen is the same shade of color. I'd also love input on what size to get. It's just for one yorkie. I'd probably keep it in my car trunk for use at friends, grandmas, outdoor activities, etc. Thanks for any input :). here's a link to it: http://www.petco.com/product/112706/...scription_link |

Wow...I just got this pen today at petsmart for 40 bucks on sale. I did not get it for my baby, I actually got it because I have 7 german shepherd puppies 5-1/2 weeks old in my kitchen. I had been using a makshift pen made out of baby gates. This pen is wonderful, the beauty of it is that you can make it into a single cube, which I will do for my Gizmo once all the shepherds have been placed in homes. I could not belevie the original price was about 90 bucks. Cynthia |

I have something very similar but but I think it might be best pet and I got it on ebay for a lot cheaper. These type of play pens are great though the fact that they fold flat is nice and they can really come in handy. I used one for Callie two years ago when we had a summer trip to family's and the doors to the house would keep getting opened and they were right on an busy road, this year at the same family thing I used to again for Callie and my moms yorkie Sammy. My dad looked at me and said you know I thought this was a pretty stupid thing but it works great it my favorite dog thing you have. |

I have one and I have no complaints with it. It it sturdy enough and I like that it collapses, has a built-in floor and a zipped on top. (I have read complaints regarding a different brand where their dog escaped because the bottom because the bottom was zippered). I have the largest size, because I have two teapots. There is plenty of room for a bed toys, food bowl, etc. I don't want it to be confining, like a kennel, so the price difference was well worth it to me. |

I have a knock off brand sold on ebay and amazon.. I love it, very light and easy to take with me wherever I go. I love that it has a built in bottom, keeps my baby from accidents on carpet, food spills, digging, messy treats.. all confined and easy to wipe up. I got the medium one as the small one just seemed to small for a really good play area, I use it for play time chasing toys and balls... Mine was much cheaper than the pet gear one was, however I've seen that one at the petstore and would say the quality is similar, the pet gear one uses a canvas like material where as mine is more like a rubbery plastic backed ripstop tent of material, both I think would hold up as long as they don't chew on it.. I sprayed bitter yuck stuff on the zippers where my puppy wanted to chew on it.. she hasn't tried since. |

Received my 36" sage coloured Pet Gear Pen yesterday. I love it! Perfect size for a single yorkie. Nice, thick, quality canvas, and it matches my stroller perfectly. And, I got it for $73 with free shipping :) I did see the blue $40 pen at Petsmart, but it wasn't the Pet Gear brand, it was 48" in size, and the quality didn't compare. |

I think this is the one I got on eBay, except in light pink. It's very comparable to the petsmart/petco one and I only paid 40.00 for it. It's large enough my 15 yr old son can fit in it, and be zipped completely in (he got in it and played with Noah lol, that's how I know) Quote:

1 Attachment(s) I have 2, and I love love love them :D...I ordered the 24x44 first and realized it would be a little to small when full grown and I have a 2 story home so I was getting kinda tired of carrying it up and down in the mornings and at night so I ordered the 36x57, its huge....now that all pups are pottied trained I keep the small 24x44 in my SUV for travel and I still confine my 2, 10 month olds when I have to go out and can't take them with me...its perfect!! and the babies love it...they still run in there if something spooks them cause they feel safe in it and I keep there beds in it and they go in there at nap time during the day...at night they sleep with DH & I and wouldn't have it any other way. I ordered both mine off Ebay, the 24x44 was 45.00 and the large 36x57 was 75.00 and I was in pet smart last friday and seen they have the 24x44 in there for 80.00 bucks ...as I was looking at it and thinking man I got mine for 45.00, a floor helper came over and asked if she could help me with anything and I said no...I was just noticing you carry the play yards now and its 80.00 bucks, why so high? when you can get them online for half that price...the lady was like really? LOL so don't buy from any pet store until you check prices online. |

I got mine from EBay too. I keep it in my sewing room because Angel is always into something and in that room there are things that could hurt her. I like the weight and that you can turn it sideways to get it through doorways. I have to keep a close eye on her though. She has learned to turn it on it's side by herself and roll it around. Sigh. I went in the other room for just a minute and she had it out the door and that is right next to the top of the stairs  That would be a long straight ride and not one I want her to take. |

I just ordered the Best Pet playpen (medium) for Ozzy from Amazon for $35. I'll let you know how it works. I read a lot of feedback for the couple brands that are out there and this one seemed best because the bottom of the other one I looked at just went on with a few 1" velcro strips and many people complained that their dogs escaped all the time. I'm really excited to try this out, because I think Ozzy could use a little more room to move around. The drawback I've heard on the one I purchased is that the zippers can break quickly. |
