I read this story the other day about a flying deer causing a power outtage.

If a bird can pick up a deer...it could easily pick up a yorkie :eek:.

That is just so awful. I guess it is a lesson for people who live in areas with wild animal populations. If a bird that size can pick up a deer it would not take much to pick up a little dog or a cat. Coyotes are more prevalent in our area. While Gracie is never outside without us we have had a couple of cats disappear. We also have giant owls around.

Wow...that is crazy and very dangerous. To our dogs or even us! What if the deer was dropped on someone in the car or any where?

That's so scary!:eek: Scary that something could happen to our babies & scary how much rubber-necking that could cause on a busy street!

How scary! I'm guessing the deer was dead before the bird caught it, because I doubt the bird could take down and fly with an animal that large with it struggling. This definitely puts into perspective what damage can be done :(

i Live in montana and I do not let my dogs outside by themselves for that very reason

well, since a bald egale was seen close by and is the likely culprit i'd say it is highly unlikely to have been a pteradactyl...
not a full one anyway, most likely part eagle part pteradactyl. afterall, kitty is half dog half triceratops.
