The Spice Boys have graduated Puppy Kindergarten
 
Basil and Caper finished up with all the classes on Saturday, and are now graduates. This Friday we meet with the Head Instructor on the game plan for their obedience training. Most likely they will get dropped off at 9 am and picked up at 5 pm for 2-3 weeks. When Carlo went, he stayed there 24/7 for 3 weeks. Marge will not let Basil and Caper spend the night or weekends. Guess because they are small and cute! The plan is to get them started there next week. We have known the owner/head trainer for years, and know they are in good hands. We will work to the point of off leash and distractions. Then they can have some fun in agility and tricks class. They are terriers, so no Personal protection training is needed! LOL:D

congratulations to basil and caper on their graduation! i am agreeing with marge, i wouldn't be able to leave them overnight or weekends either even if you do know they are in great hands. before you know it, they will be ready to star in their own movie... I know, and it would be hard. The main reason is so they do not develop any bad habits at home while they are being trained. So we wi9ll have to PEN them at night, and no rough housing with them. Carlo lived there for the 3 weeks and he came back outstanding. The Brothers will benefit. The 3 weeks or longer, depending, will get them to the point of being off leashed trained....and that is important as they like to go after Peacocks! Terriers! I am hoping being at the training facility for 8 hours each day will tire them out, and will just have to keep them from misbehaving on weekends. If it was my call, they would live there for the entire time, but I would visit to check on the, After the training Marge and I go to the facility to work with them again under the watchful eye of the trainer.

sounds like a great plan steve! i am sure once they're done with training they will coexist with the peacocks lol! my dad fostered a male yorkie for a few months that a family had gave up because he went after their chickens. he adopted him to a family in his neighborhood that had no other pets / animals other than a s**tzu. my zowi has always had "a thing" for horses. she has been on camping trips / traveled with us before and goes crazy every time she sees a horse. even if it is on the television she freaks out!!! terrible terriers!!!! ;)
